Bargain but low quality
The psu works well on a budget pc but produces a low level high pitch sound really annoying when it is off. Sign of low quality capacitors and coils etc. If you want a high quality mini build then this is not the option to power it. Updated to 5 stars: Psu broke on june 2020 probably due to poor quality components. I contacted Apevia and after some questions they quickly honored the warranty and sent me a version with better components. Customer service is mind blowing these guys are very professionals. Will continue to support them.

A for Apevia: Very Good Power Supply 4 Computer Repair, Small Form Factor Desktop
Spent 3 weeks looking for a small form factor power supply unit replacement for an old desktop repair. Old HP Pavillion computer uses a microATX form factor. Depth into the computer chamber has to be less than 4" to fit the cabling to the internal motherboard and hardware. Very, very difficult to locate a microATX for factor. I wanted a price in the $20--25 price range. The Apevia came in high wattage. It has a power switch for on/off, and this is important. It was priced at $30. The quality is good. It looks very nice--comes in all black profile with black covered cables, so sleek and modern. Small size so fits where there is space limits. You will need to buy a adapter plate SFX to ATX. The computer is running, surfing the internet, typing in the review. If I had a similar repair to do, I would buy it again. With a discount code, this is a dope buy. 1 4 4

Louder than I wanted, priced where I needed.
A well-priced PSU for a BUDGET ITX/small form PC. This is not something you'll want to push a mid-to-high gaming system with. Use it only for a APU system or something with a low-end card, like a RX 9060 XT or ARC B580 or 5050 if you bought one of those for some reason. My sytem is a passively-cooled legacy Core2 system with a passively cooled r5 220. This PSU worked fine for that, but it was too loud. I switched to a different one, which was much more expensive, but has the benefit of being completely silent far beyond what my system can actually pull. Use this PSU if: 1. You're not drawing that much power on CPU, GPU and peripherals. 2. You don't care about noise, or have a dampening solution. 4-stars for being a decent but loud budget solution.

Failed. Unreliable. Cheap.
Failed after two years. Only a 1-year warranty, which is a red flag. Cheap upfront, but not reliable. Would not recommend for anything important like a home server.

Silent as Dracula's coffin
So far so good, I am very pleased with this power supply, this is so silent you would think is dead, very stable, make sure it's for your small factor case, measure your current power supply and case, this unit is small but powerful, very good materials used to make this item.

Working great!
So far it is working great. It is much quieter than my last power supply but not as quiet as I had hoped but still so much better. Update 9/10/2019 - The power supply is still working but now the fan is going out. It is making some very bad noises. Just a few months past warranty so I will probably have to replace the fan myself. I guess you get what you pay for. At least it is still working and as for problems, it is a fairly easy fix. Not going to knock a star off since it did last over a year and is technically still working as is, I just don't trust the fan anymore.

Short lifespan
Wish I'd paid more attention to the negative reviews. Supply lasted a little more than a year, with no problems, when suddenly I noticed that the fan noise was louder than it had been. Didn't pay much attention to it, when a few days later it died (I could smell that something had shorted/popped). Not good, so now I'm looking for a replacement. I won't buy this brand again.

Right Size Right Price
The actual dimensions are 2.5x3.94x4.92 inches. There are no longer many replacement PSUs offered that are smaller than the standard ATX form factor, so this is a welcome choice if you need a miniATX or SFX PSU. This was actually sightly shorter than what I was replacing. It has braided sleeves for the cables and there are 2 separate cables with SATA power plugs instead 1 cable with 2 SATA plugs that usually are too close together. It also has an ON/OFF rocker switch which other products delete. I have not run this item long enough to comment on longevity or power quality. However it seems to have met my needs.

Solid and Affordable Power Supply for Dell OptiPlex 5050!
I used the APEVIA SFX-AP400W power supply to upgrade my Dell OptiPlex 5050, which is an office PC. It fits perfectly in the small form factor case and provides enough power for the system's needs. The installation was straightforward, and the unit is compact yet feels solid. It runs quietly, which is a big plus since this PC is mainly used for work purposes. Despite being an affordable power supply, it has been reliable, and I havenโt experienced any issues with stability or overheating. Overall, if you're looking for a budget-friendly, efficient power supply for a compact PC like the Dell OptiPlex 5050, this one does the job well!

Would not recommend for long-term reliability.
It worked perfectly for just under 2 years, when it failed overnight. I was using it on a server with 60W average power draw, with peaks of up to 120W. It died during a backup, at one of these power peaks. When it died, it started power cycling about once a second, destroying my boot SSD on the server. Would not recommend for reliability. Efficiency was not good either, as when I switched to a Gold rated power supply from a reputable manufacturer, power draw decreased about 15%.
