Powerful!
Powerful! Pushes a lot of air. Easy install. The "low" setting could have been high speed! Rotation is smooth and a full 180 degrees. Very happy overall. My one "complaint" would be that it's pretty powerful, so more machine noise than i expected, but if I had more space that could easily be solved by moving this a bit further away from conversation. Would still purchase again though!

Cooling off
Update: I e had them approx 3 weeks now. They have been adjusted several times to blow at a certain direction but they won’t stay. They won’t stay up, they are noisy (industrial sounding) and they won’t stay in the direction I adjusted them to blow. Somewhat disappointed. If you get for your patio area, just know they are loud and won’t stay where they were put.. not sure I’d recommend. They are strong and put out good air flow. I purchased two for my patio and they were both mounted on support beams. Perfect placing for a cooler situation. They are a little noisy but not bothersome. I will get electricity to my patio next week so plugs aren’t hanging. Would recommend this fan especially if you are not able to mount a ceiling fan.

Buy this fan!
I have two of these 14" fans on my small deck (10x12) and they are excellent. I have had them for about 3 years. They are not under a roof and so are exposed to the elements during the warmer months although I do have covers for them in the colder seasons. They are powerful and move lots of air for their size and I am able to get a lot of circulation keeping my deck much more pleasant in the Alabama summer. It definitely helps with cooling but also keeping bugs away. I have one mounted so that it can also blow directly on me when I am grilling and I love the tilting feature. Because the are mounted from above I can also rotate them to blow to different areas of the deck. They are also not very noisy except on the highest speed and even then you can still talk over them or hear music u might have playing.

It does its job
I like it. It keeps my porch cool on those hot days. All speeds work great. I felt the breeze from the fan about 30-40 feet away on high. You will have to use your ingenuity for mounting it though . I made a plywood base for it. I also put extra screws to mount it. I give it 4 stars because when it’s set at one position it’s flimsy when pulling the chord to change fan speeds. Tightening the up and down position bolt keeps it from dropping down but side to side is a plastic gear/piece that provides to much movement. Not sure how long it will last but I’m hoping it will get me through the summer.

Easy install and good airflow
Works great and would recommend! Airflow is good and installation wasn’t bad.

Zero Airflow 3 Feet From Fan
There are no pros regarding this fan. From the start, the mounting bracket provided no provision to keep the fan support from rotating on the mounting bracket. It hangs from a single hook in the middle, allowing the fan to pivot like a single hook picture frame would. This is in spite of the fact the mounting bracket has two screw holes far enough apart that they can't both catch a stud (my previous fan had three mounting screws laid out so they all had purchase in solid wood), necessitating the purchase and installation of a drywall anchor. The fan support is made of super lightweight metal that feels extremely inadequate to support the heavy fan motor and cage. When I mounted the fan, the bolt that holds it to the fan support arm had to be tightened way more than I felt comfortable with to keep the fan from sagging; I fully expected the plastic part of the fan motor that sits in the support arm to snap before it held its position. Instructions were awful and I had to remove the back cage and rotate it 90 degrees before the front cage would align properly using the hook on the top and the screw on the bottom. Once that was aligned properly, I found the hook on the front cage was too skinny to fit over the frame of the back cage and enjoyed fighting with it for several minutes before I finally got it on far enough that I could stretch the cage down to get the bottom screw in. I fired the fan up to find there was essentially zero airflow once I was more than 3 feet from the fan; see my video showing the plastic sheet hanging limp three feet from the front of the fan on high. And no, the blade was not on backwards, as you can see in the video, placing the bag behind the fan does result in it being sucked against the cage. The lousy mounting equipment would make this a 3-star fan but the fact that it doesn't blow air makes it absolutely worthless. My old 16" fan cost 1/3 the amount, installed in 1/4 the time, and could be felt on the far side of my two-car garage. And here I thought I was upgrading with a bigger fan!

I sent back the 18" model I first ordered, 14" is actually a perfect for my use
Has been EXACTLY A YEAR since I got the 18" model then returned it for the 14" size.. Best choice for me since the 14" does everything I need for it to do. New photos show it installed (piece of decking board toggle bolted to the overhang ceiling and fan bolted to that board). Although the Tiki God seems worried, I can assure you the fan is attached rock solid to the ceiling. We have used all three speeds as the temperature requires and no complaint about noise or rattling (since there is none). Wife now tells me she would like another exact same fan down under the elevated deck from where fan #1 is to cool off the pool area. I can't argue with her on that. I purchased the 18 inch model since it was only $33.00 more than the 14" model and the 18" model had 2 and a 1/2 times the CFM. After unit arrived it appeared well built and exactly what I expected. Problem was it weights 20 pounds and I felt the size was a bit of overkill on our medium sized deck. Before I took out the ladder and tools, I read more of the 4000+ reviews to try to convince myself to keep the larger size fan. I noticed many of the people that bought this larger size said they only used the lowest speed setting and one even stated he should have bought the 14" size. The next day the 18" fan price dropped $12.00 on Amazon and I decided to return the 18" fan (out of the box for maybe 15 minutes / unused) and buy the 14". Weight for the 14" is only 13 lbs compared to the 20 lbs listed for the 18" fan. DB rating is 48 for the 14" model and the 18" is not listed on Amazon but listed at other retailers as 50 DB so that would be fine if we had kept the larger model.

Great product
Very powerful air flow. Instructions were not great but we figured it out. A bit noisy but for the power of the fan its to be expected.

Merci
