I successfully made it to work with my own scent, you will need to add a base on the oil scent, use about 90 to 95% “perfume alcohol” base and 5 to 10% oil any scent. You got to play around with the ratio but you cannot put to much oil, the tiny hole will get clog. The alcohol will act as a evaporative and carry the oils.

Q: Is there a way for this to run outside of the car, like if I wanted to take it into a hotel room with me?

This product adopts a vibrating detector, it will automatically open when it detects engine and car vibrating, and it will automatically turn off when it detects no vibrating for 4 minutes. Thus, It cannot use in house because the house has less vibrating and it will automatically turn off.

Yes, it charges with a usb cable that will come with product.
