Great router and mesh with independent 2.4 and 5g
This system works great in our house. We've got an extension so our previous outer walls are indoors.Always had problems on one side of the house. Tried Google wifi which didn't work. Also, with some mesh systems you can't split 2.4 and 5g so if on 2.4 and the microwave kicks in the signal goes. The choice us yours on this with either splitting the two of combining.Plenty of versatility with this Asus solution. Can split both signals. Also have the option to use the extra 5g signal, Ethernet or powerline to backhaul the additional access point to the main router.I have also used powerline to connect my modem to the router up in the back bedroom out of the way so have moved 2 NAS''s my 8 port switch, Phillips hue hub and weather hub off the downstairs window sill, up out of the way. Much to the delight of my other half!Didn't use technical support but setup was seamless no problems at all.Using a Draytek Vigor 130 as my modem. Also have 2x CCTV cameras which, frustratingly, used to take a while to link to, now almost instantaneous connection.Delivery was quoted at about 2 weeks but it got here within a week. So all good so far.

Great mesh + powerline combo
These access points are great if you are already invested in the ASUS AI mesh networking system. I started with a ASUS TUF-AX5400 router and later bought a 2 pack of XP4s. I was able to connect one of the two XP4 units using a RJ45 cable to the TUF-AX5400 router to extend the network, with the second XP4 unit,I had the flexiblility to place it anywhere within my home as the powerline backhaul took care of the connection. It saved me running a huge network cable across the house. If you have a similar setup be sure to optimise the network after all AI mesh nodes are in place and powered on/connected.

Fantastic upgrade of our home network
Our house has thick brick walls everywhere, and so we are totally dependent on Powerline based nodes to get good WIFI coverage. In the past we relied on cheap and cheerful mainstream plug-socket type products, which were ok, but provided intermittent service and had to be used alongside a high powered gaming router to supply the work-from-home areas of the house with either a decent signal or an ethernet connection. This system really is the best of all possible worlds. The wifi signal is incredibly strong and fast - doing a much better job of going around corners and through thinner walls. Meanwhile the powerline speed is blisteringly fast compared to what we are used to. The icing on the cake is that the browser based control centre is fantastically clear and simple. I'm really happy we spent the extra money to get this system. Great stuff all around.

Nice idea but not work
Like the idea that can use powerline as backhaulHowever in real life it's too depends of the electric circuit quality, which is below standard in most housesIn my 19 year old circuit, it could has the connection but nothing transferred

Do not buy
I bought this to replace a 5 year old google mesh network mistakenly thinking this would be an improvement. It isn't. The google mesh never had random pauses while the mesh decides to reorganise itself for no obvious reason. The google mesh never refused to allow devices to join in. The Google mesh never forced me to write reviews about it on amazon using my 5G phone signal -because the WiFi actually worked.Buying this was a really expensive mistake. I'm still trying to fix things, by manually telling each node what to use as a relay and what specific back channel to prioritise-but I fear it's self-optimising feature will have it decide I'm mistaken and that it knows better than me.

Very temperamental product
Fine if you live in small place but found that the thick walls in my old farmhouse doesn't help the WiFi connection in all rooms. Persevering because slightly better than just WiFi. Still dropping out and having to reboot frequently but I think the area I live has these problems anyway
