AmScope PA60XK 60X Plan Achromatic Objective Lens with Knurled Ring

A professional quality, objective lens and the magnification is excellent.

I purchased the objective to assist with soot analysis of very small particles. The images were clear. The only downside is that the objective is a bit shorter than my 40x so I had to adjust the focal distance. Very happy with the purchase

This one particular Plan Achromatic objective lens was faulty. I could not get it to focus no matter the slide or ocular used. So I returned the lens. I have not yet ordered a replacement. The other Plan Achromatic lenses I have ordered work perfectly, and although not ordered as a set, are still close to being par-focal. Eventually, I'll probably reorder another 60X Plan objective, but have no immediate need for it.

Excellent objective option!, that gives you a 20 times more magnification over the 40X regular objective of the microscope, with a very good Plan-Achromatic optical quality, without sacrify the image quality, and the need to use oil to improve the magnification of the images. A great intermediate dry option between the 40X and 100X (oil) objectives. At a great affordable price, what else can you ask?!!!... Recomended!!!

The first one of these I ordered came defective - it was off-center, requiring repositioning the slide when switching from lower mag lenses. Also after replacing it with a new one it was not significantly sharper than the non-plan. Still had a f***ton of chromatic aberration near the edges when using the calibration slide. And honestly at 60x who really cares about supposed sharpness all the way to the edge - once you are at 60x you are pretty much focused on what's at the center. Regardless, the non-plan from amscope was almost half the price and was just as good for non-lab use, which let's be honest anyone spending this kind of money on a lens is definitely not in a lab. For hobbyist or non-professional biological/medical use, save yourself the money and go with the standard lens. But be advised as I said I had to go through two of these before I found one that wasn't defective, so don't assume that the first one you get is representative of this model in general. I would strongly recommend ordering two and then keeping the better of the two. If amscope has a problem with that then maybe higher some people to do QC!

Using oil is messy, but with this 60x lens you get near oil performance for little effort. I love the upgrade, was by far the best upgrade on my scope so far.

This objective is a stand alone to my other objectives that were standard on my scope and therefore is not parfocal like the other. However, I could care less. I love this objective over the plan 100 I also bought. I do more mind readjusting my view, because when I do I'm always happy with my view.

I like the upgrade to my microscope, just be certain to match the objective type exactly.

I purchased this item for my boss who is a Veterinarian. I was a little worried at first that it would not meet his expectations but to my surprise he was very happy with the purchase. He installed it the minute I brought it to work and said it was perfect, so no complaints and he's been using it for weeks now.

cant really tell how good from one lens to another but what is with the $113.00 dollars CDN if it ships from the states.
