So far these are holding up wonderfully
I'll start with one, bad, I have-but it's not worth docking stars over.I wish the string handle was a bit longer because it does seem to get stuck and block the removeable cover from being removed- which can frustrate a little toddler.I got this for Christmas for my little one's first one. Just over 11 months old at the time. The solid wood was a huge bonus- and this set is really well made. Each block came individually wrapped which I found as a welcome surprise. With these types of toys, I do worry about paint coming off, chipping, etc..But so far the durability of these has been wonderful! Not a single pain speck missing. I find the large pieces welcome as well- because it lessens the risk of choking and I don't have to worry about my little playing with them.

Excellent Quality and Reasonable Price
Bought these for my 9 month old grandson. He and I both like them. True he’s a bit young for putting the shapes in the appropriate hole, but he loves taking the blocks out one by one and then kind of throws them back in. This set is nicer in person than it appears in the photo. Colors are bright and true and well painted. First thing he did of course was to start chewing on them with his four teeth. Examining the pieces while I put them away I could not tell which blocks he chewed. I’m rather picky about many things, most especially how well something is engineered and manufactured. The box is well put together giving me every reason to believe that it will not be falling apart, chipping, or showing any signs of wear any time soon. There have been some complaints about there not being a catch to keep the lid closed. I actually kind of like that because it’ll teach him what’ll happen if he chooses to carry the box any way but right side up. I like that the lid is colored for similar reasons. All around a nice set of shape sorting blocks and container. As I add to the toys that stay at Grammy’s for his use, I’ll definitely be on the watch for Cubbie Lee. Meaning if Cubbie Lee has what I’m looking for, I’ll buy theirs for sure.

Awesome blast from the past!
I just received my shape sorter and as soon as I opened it the nostalgia kicked in. This is the same toy I remember playing with in the early 80s, although the quality has improved. My son is only 7 months old so he still hasn't quite figured out the sorting part, but each piece has past through his mouth and been approved. The edges are rounded, the pieces are a perfect size for his little hands, the colors are bright, and the whole thing held up to its first bath of many I'm sure. Little man was infatuated as soon as I put it in front of him and it instantly became his favorite toy. The quality is outstanding and I know this toy will be used by any additions we have later on.

Good toy
This toy is tough. My child is a bit too young still to fit the pieces in the slots and he yanks the box around by its lid. I was worried it would break but it's holding strong. The only think bad about the toy is that the lid doesn't stay shut. You have to put the three bottom pieces in the box first or they won't fit into it while the box is on the ground with the lid facing up. If you turn the box you have to hold the lid shut or the pieces come out.

Solid and well made.
This shape sorter is very well made. Both the box and the blocks are solid, and the paint is secure (even after a little chewing). Like many overoptimistic parents, I bought this for my 9 month old (with supervision). The shape sorting is a bit too advanced for him, but he enjoys pushing around the blocks, and he can even drop a shape through the slot, if shown the correct one. Other reviews noted that the door is pretty loose. That is correct, but it doesn't bother me. In fact, I think it makes it easier to play with. One thing I would say is that that shape puzzle aspect is pretty advanced. The diamond and the parallelogram are both yellow, and very similar in shape. The first time I tried putting the diamond in the parallelogram slot, I thought "these guy's manufacturing tolerances are out of spec!" Nope: Everything fits just fine, and symmetrical parts can fit in any orientation.

Addresses lots of developmental skills
As an occupational therapist that works in the homes of birth to three children, I purchased this as part of my options for evaluation when I first meet the child. I love the feel and durability of wood! I like that I can vary the complexity of playing with it from just putting the blocks in and out of the box, just having the shapes out for a specific side, or using all the shapes and sides. I can have a child simply figure out how to get the shapes out of the box. (Occasionally, the string on the lid will get in the way or get stuck underneath the lid preventing shapes from going in- but it can give the child a chance to problem solve or I can help.) The shapes also stack nicely on each other for tower building and help me see the child's motor planning and fine motor coordination skills. The bright, but simple colors are good for color recognition. This is a nice wooden toy that offers a lot of ways to play with it and address developmental skills.

Decent
It’s decent! The top always falls off because there’s no divet or latch to keep it in place so that’s a bit frustrating and also when there’s shapes inside it’s hard for my babes to get shapes in the shape spaces because there’s no room. But the price was on the lower end so I can’t say I wasted money. But kids enjoy saying the shapes they find and dump all of them on the floor anyways lol

My daughters loved it !
I like that it brought a lot of shapes. The only thing I dislike is the slide door used to secure the shapes it does not stay shut and opens easily.
