Works just like it should. Do note, it does not come with any screws or bottom fastener, the part that holds it to the bench that allows it to prop the seat up.

Beware - NO SCREWS!!!
It's brass and a Lid Support Hinge, but it didn't come with any screws or instructions. I don't need the instructions, but the screws would have been nice... From other comments, seems like I'm not the only one.
