Japanese for Fun: A Practical Approach to Learning Japanese Quickly (Audio CD Included)

Small, handy little book that's good for dipping your toes into the Japanese language. I like that there's a section for grammar and sentence structure, and another for pronunciation. The audio CD is nice, but I find (at least for now) that I need to read along while listening.

This is a conveniant and easy way to get started with Japanese, it comes with a handy book and audio cd,all of which are quite easy to follow and enjoy.My only regret is,that i paid 15.95 at borders when I could've got it here at amazon much cheaper, but either way it is worth it.It is true that there isn't much here for the student who has already studied this language, but if you are just starting out with it, this will do just fine.

This is a great book if you're looking for a way to - like the title- learn Japanese for fun. If, however, you know even a smidgen of Japanese, then it will be most annoying. I am in no way fluent in Japanese, in fact I barely know more than twenty words, but I do know how they are spelled. This book omits the "u" at the end of most words in order to make it simpler for the reader to pronounce the words correctly. This is fine but there isn't even a forewarning about this or even a note to make sure people are understanding that the words are not spelled correctly. I think this is a big sacrifice just in the name of phonics which the CD should help cover. I didn't even use the CD, though I'm sure it would be helpful for beginners like myself...All in all, I think this book could have been handled a little better. At least it has a pretty good English to Japanese and Japanese to English dictionary.

so fun, so cool, I love the book! it's a quick little guide, but it's a great introduction to the Japanese language. I don't have much time, so I'll go over it a few minutes a day, it's really great!

The CD that came with the book is completely blank track, which kind of defeats the purpose of my purchasing this combo.

The CD is not fun. Bored sounding male speaks English. Much of what he says is chapter title, subject title, and English word or phrase which will be spoken softly next in Japanese by the female voice. Book is small for travel. Much of the book is black type on gray background - difficult to read in low light, like on an airplane. (see picture) Two stars.

I love the disc, and overall a very cute helpful book
