I got this as a gift for someone from Boston. The title kind of sums up the books premise.Not being into sports that much, I am surprised that there is so much animosity between the two teams! (o.k., sarcasm!)I think this would be a good book for any Red Sox fan, and the Holidays and/or birthdays are always approaching!NOTICE: I did NOT receive this product for free to make an "unbiased" review. Im a Yankee's fan and my boyfriend is a Red Sux fan. This was the perfect gift for him. He isnt a huge reader but he loves the banter in the book (& in real life lol).

It was a gift for my Son in law. He is from Boston and there is an inside joke about UranusSo this was a perfect gift.

It was o k....as a lifelong redsox fan who lived for a while in Brooklyn, I was anticipating more 'juicy' stuff. The author (in my opinion) settled for an easy story in what could/should be much more "juicy". I will send it on to my oldest son who is a Bosox fan. I am sure ho too will say "where's the beef?"

I have to confess that I bought this on the strength of the title. I wrapped it before reading it but as we are both Red Sox fans I know my husband and I are certain to get a laugh or two out of it.

The title definitely drew me in and every page is humorous and enjoyable. I love how Wasif describes the characteristics of Red Sox and Yankees fans, most of them being quite accurate or at least believable. As a huge, dedicated Red Sox fan, I think this book is a great read.

It good book, good information, but its lacking some depth. ... I would like it to focus more on some of the historical richness of Boston and its people that made the Sox and their fans who they are,,,, would have liked some solid stats on variances between NY and Boston but the lighthearted focus on anecdotes takes precedence.If you love the Sox, if you love Boston, if you hate NY (that always helps) you will like this, but then again, if you are a Sox fan you will buy anything that says we're better than NY or anything at all that is remotely Sox related or even just has a B on it.... I dont see how this would appeal to others who are baseball fans but haven't got the Sox passion, and I guess I wish it had something to this that would make it appeal more widely. In a way, as I haven't lived in Boston for several years, I wish sometimes the jokes weren't such "in" jokes. I feel a bit let down because it makes Cheers-style conversation so if you arent "one of the regulars" you don't always get it,Good book, funny, Although I love the Sox and enjoy reading the memories, it makes the book and its delights hard to share with my English hubby. I was hoping it would help him enjoy my beloved Sox, its protective Green Monster and its frustrating "cursed" years,,, but its not something I can share except with those who already are invested... a but like the Sox themselves.I was hoping that it would be adequately based in this universe that others who had yet to enjoy the Martian spring could enjoy it even if just a little but,,, well, it is what it is. Good if you're an established fan.
