I have this paired up with a class-d amplifier that drives a set of small speakers in my garage or porch. This subwoofer provides a much needed bottom end to what are otherwise midbass speakers, at best.As others have mentioned, it will sound best once you have the crossover and gain set appropriately for your specific environment. My experience has been very good after several years of use.As seen in the pictures, I've made some small modifications that enable me to move it from one space to another easily and protect the downward-facing driver from damage.

First off subwoofers need to fitted to a room and speaker setup. Our new place is rather acoustic with wood floors and ceilings. Second we use a 3.1 speaker setup. My only goal was to fill out the bass of our two floor standing speakers and a center channel to brighten the vocals. For us it works great! You won't get a big bass Punch! But we don't need that. I consider this more for filling out the sound at a very reasonable price.Besides that, it has all the crossovers I need. Consider your needs when it comes to subs, I don't need theater quality stuff, just fill out the spectrum and no need for a punch like you'd hear out of a rattling car trunk.

easy install with LFE……good bass without blowing me out of small den…….size is also convenient……compliments my new pair of Fluance speakers (reference March issue of “MacWorld” magazine).

It's relatively small, gives decent sound, has some nice features (phase switch, crossover and volume controls) and is easy to setup. For the price it's amazing.

Sounds better than I expected. You have to play around with the dials quite a bit to get it right. Sometimes it sounds good like a nice thump-thump, then other times it's more of a um-um-um. Good enough for the size it is. I don't like to see speakers so this is good for that. Minus a star because the volume control just spins and spins. If you turn it to the minimum the light blinks, but you are able to just turn and turn to max with no stop. That just seems weird to me and not right. I thought it was a defect until a You tube reviewer complained of the same thing.

I have a pair of Edifier R1700BTs. They are fine speakers in their price point but a little more bass would help round out the sound. The Bestisan subwoofer is cost-effective and adds body to the sound from the Edifiers.
