What is the width and length?

Hi Amy the dimensions are 17 inches long by 12 inches by 2.5 inches deep. Ad the longest utensil it holds is about 14 inches long with a couple of inches to spare.

What is the external width? 12" or 12" +2". what size should be the drawer width to contain this?

The external width is 12" +/- 1/4". It is better to allow for a 1/2" to fit better. It is better to allow that same 1/2" for other to dimensions.

Can anyone (seller) comment on the review? Are the dividers too short?? I am interested in this but not if it's not well made!

I found it very well made. Some of the sections are small as it runs diagonally but since I have some pieces I wanted to organize that were small, it works well for me.

What are the sizes of the compartments (with the dividers in), especially the widths?

Approx. internal Dimensions: The two small ones at the corners are triangles with base 5-1/4” & height 5-1/4”. The medium compartments are 11-1/2” long (measure at center) by 3-1/2” wide (measure at center). The central compartment 15-1/2” long (measure at center) by 3-1/2” wide (measure at center).
