Handy and works well

I bought this some time ago so I can report that it is reliable and does the job. I back up my documents on to it each week and I take it when I go away so I can continue to have access to all my documents and then I copy it back onto my computer when I return so that I have not missed anything. Great buy.

Bought this item in December 08. Worked just fine for 6 months and then just packed up. As it was outside the 30 day returns date I need to return it to Amazon as a faulty item under the Sale of Goods Act - and in line with Amazon's statement that their 30 day guarantee does not affect my statutory rights. however trying to find a link to contact Amazon Customer Services on their website is like looking for a black cat in a coal cellar at midnight. I have sent three emails off to arious Amazon addresses and so fart (a fter two days) have received NO replies.Curiously enough whenever I want to buy something from Amazon I have no difficulty in finding a 'Buy Now' link and no difficulty in finding a 'Pay Now' link on their websiote.A pity that Amazon seem to be delbverately obstructive in dealing with faulty items of complaints. Bought last year and has been pretty reliable. I had a western digital before, bought from Dixons which I returned after the power supply kept failing. This does everying I need from backing up my laptop to my music and DVDs.

Plugged and played! Great wee carrying case. Works on one USB cable powered from the desktop or laptop.Caution, I did have a problem one time when I plugged it in, it just sat there and made a tick, not recognised on computer etc.I had used another USB cable and not the one supplied with it, I assume it was a cheap one which caused too much supply voltage drop. So make sure you use only the lead that comes with it.

It is small and has been reliable so far (6 months in). I set up automatic backups onto one of these for a relative. They had windows 2000, so I was a bit concerned, but it worked fine. Even though I used the supplied cable, i found that i had to use two sockets for it to work properly. I guess this depends on your computer's power supply...

Great little product. I was experiencing a real breakdown in confidence with my computer after upgrading to BitDefender 2009 (Do not bother at the moment. See my other review) and therefore planned to reformat and rebuild it. This was the backup storage I needed before taking such a radical step. It worked with minimal fuss using just the USB cable, but an additional USB power cable comes with it. It took approx 1 hour to transfer 50GB+ of data. I then plugged it into my daughter's laptop so that I would have an independent backup (I would hate to lose our photos). Again with minimal fuss it was up and running. For the price this is an excellent product providing safe and reliable backup storage.

Diese kleine 2,5 Zoll Festplatte mit 300 GB habe ich mir für meine Urlaube angeschafft um unterwegsDaten von meinem Kameras und Camcordern zu sichern.Diese Festplatte hat ein sehr kleines Baumaß, wird mit einem USB Anschlusskabel ausgeliefertund hat ihre Arbeit bisher immer sehr zuverlässig und vor allem sehr schnell verrichtet.ich würde diese Festplatte daher immer wieder kaufen und gebe deshalb eine klare Kaufempfehlung!
