I have two Springfield Armory XD(M)s in 9mm, a 3.8 compact and the larger, 5.25 inch competition. At this reasonable price, I bought one for each pistol. But it doesn't fit the larger one at all and I had to return it. So the website description is inaccurate, it fits SOME XD(M) pistols, not all of them. I can confirm it does fit fine on a 3.8" compact.In terms of quality, here is what I would say. For a home defense pistol that lives a fairly quiet life and doesn't get a ton of rounds through it every year, this seems like a fine choice. It holds zero fine and seems equal to that kind of use. But I would probably step up to one of the more expensive models if I expected it to see harder service. This is probably not the right choice for a service weapon etc. that gets banged around more frequently.

it looked all right and working when I received it. But when I finally got time to set it up on my XDm, it didn't work. At first, I thought I didn't turn it off and the battery was drawn, so I ordered a replacement battery and tested it again, the issue is still there: if I tried to turn it on, I randomly get 1 of 3 results: 1) working as expected 2) not working at all, laser not turned on 3) a very weak read beam shows up which can only be seen within about 3 feet. Contacted Amazon to return but it's past returning window and got charged a 20% restocking fee

It fits around my trigger guard perfectly and very tight. Also, there is another point of security on the rail closest to the trigger guard. I was amazed to see that it was perfectly zeroed in at 20 feet after the 2 minute installation. I'm right-handed. When my trigger finger is pointed down-range, it is right on top of the on/off button. To me, this is quite nice, because it means I won't spend precious split seconds fumbling to find the button. Plus, it simply takes less practice to get familiar with the turning it on and off when your finger is naturally right there. I installed this sight on my Springfield XDM 9mm Compact 3.8". The black plastic on this sight matches the color and texture of the plastic on my handgun perfectly. I tried everything I could to get the sight to go out of zero short of dropping it or anything that would break it. I could get it out of zero. However, I have yet to fire my XDM with the this sight installed on it. I will update this review after putting at least 100 rounds through it. One more pro, Crimson Trace has a free, "Batteries for Life" promotion. All you have to do is check a box when filling out the warranty card online and they will send you one set of batteries per year.

Took a week to arrive. Truth be known I could have walked to manufacturers and picked up the product quicker. Was shipped from Florida when the company is In Wilsonville, Oregon (40 miles away). Product Crimson Trace DS123 is a great product. Very easy to install and took minimal adjustment.

Best price I've found for a quality laser. Sighted in fairly easily but after one trip to the range and maybe 80-100 rounds, I discovered when I got home that it had gone out of adjustment. I will re-adjust and try again to see if it was operator error. I want to like this sight for home defense so obviously it needs to remain sighted. I've always read good things about CT so fingers crossed.Edit: It's on a Springfield XDM-9

Fits my older XD very nicely. Solid fitment, nice bright laser. Still waiting to try out. My only concern is the activation position right in line with the trigger throw. It takes a bit of finger force to turn it on, and hate to slip off and pull the trigger by accident in a crisis. This is magnified since the XD has no standard safety lever (only grip and trigger). A little practice will define if this is a real issue or just first thoughts. Quick ship for a change from Amazon.

I got a great deal on this because it was "used-like new" from the Amazon Warehouse. It looks brand new to me and works great. I would've bought two if there was another one available.FYI I tried this on my XDm Elite (3.8") and on my XD subcompact (3") and it fit perfectly. It goes from the trigger guard to the closest slot on the rail. I figured I'd share that info because I've purchased the wrong laser before since there's so many different XD variations.

A nice, inexpensive red dot on a springfield xdm 9mm, used as home protection. Sighted in at short range, all good, andeasy to adjust and install. Plastic, so no weight consideration to speak of. Doesn't affect trigger pull. Fits fine in a bedside table mounted quick access safe. Would recommend for those not wanting to spend a fortune....
