HP Compaq CQ72 G72 G62 CPU Cooling Fan 606013-001 612354-001 KSB0505HA-A

I can't account for other sub-models, but mine - the G72-227WM - does not use the same fan as this item. It was my mistake for not double checking and trusting the item description. I do know that most G72's use a similar motherboard layout so there might be mismatches on other models. Double check your fan orientation before ordering! ;-)To comment on the build of this fan for any who do use this orientation, I peaked under the fan blades and it appears that the quality of the stator is definitely not the same core spec as the OEM. That shouldn't be an issue for such light loads, although there may be less power efficiency on this one. 2 stars removed for this.

Found a video on youtube on how to install. Got my screw drivers out and went to work. Less than a hour later I was up and running and now my computer is running cool again.

Fits where the old one was, is slightly different from the old one. There is a chirping sound now instead of a grinding noise. Would like some help on the issue

Whatever you do, don't blow these fans out with compressed air higher than 5 psi. You have been warned.

I had to do some modifications

Installed and operating as expected. No problems so far. Check for online installation videos. Not easy to do without instructions. Involves significant disassembly of PC. Must be one of the first components installed when building PC.

Good quality item. Worked as advertised.
