Avoids too-strong magnet that breaks plastic
These are breaking because LG used a magnet that was too strong. As you open the door it stresses the plastic retainer tabs and over time it breaks them. The designer of this part avoided that by using a weaker magnet. But it works fine in our machine, just has a more delicate action. It should outlast the original.

Easy to install
It seems like these parts are pretty generic across washers. Put my model number in the search and this one came up. Fit and was super easy to install. A simple fix that I thought would cost $$$

Fit LG WM6500HBA
I was not sure if it fit my LG WM6500HBA washer as I was unable to locate a parts diagram for it; but it worked. Easily installed.

It seems to work
This replaced the broken piece on my LG washer. It fit nicely and was easy to install. It’s much lighter than the original part and I can tell the magnet is not as strong but so far it seems to be doing the job. I did get a door error the first time I used it but that hasn’t happened since.
