The Baddies: a wickedly funny picture book from the creators of The Gruffalo

This book is fab. My daughter is 2 and loves the rhyming of the Julia Donaldson stories. This one is fabulous and the story flows well. The people highlighting the strange turns of phrase are overthinking it or not getting into the rhythm of the rhyme. It’s not difficult to read. This only arrived today and my 2 year old is already remembering bits of it and asking us to read it again and again. Would highly recommend and really hope the BBC do an animation like Zog, Highway Rat and more.

I bought this book for my 5 year old grandson. He loved it, we were both laughing whilst I was reading it to him.

My 3 year old daughter loves this book. I bought one for my 5 year old nephew too and he also loves it. It’s very entertaining and a bit less sweetness and light than lots of other young children’s books.

My 4 year old grandson loves the prose and the illustrations in this book, and indeed, others in this series. Are engrossing and fun to read with my grandson. Great to get him interested in reading before he starts school in Sept
