I was very hesitant to order this bed, for a lot of reasons. Some of which are that these "assemble yourself" furniture things have, in the past (NOT Zinus), have been very difficult to assemble. Things like missing parts, missing instructions (!) (you name it). Gave me a definite pause.Add all of this to the fact that I am female, and (how to put this?) "older", and don't have a lot of experience with assembling things (i.e., mostly poor experiences, as mentioned above) and that a purchase of this bed would make it THE most expensive single item I have ever purchased on Amazon - me, an Amazon customer of 20+ years standing - just about made me decide to give this bed a pass.Boy, am I glad I read the reviews (more than 20,000 at this writing). Reading the reviews, and looking at the rating, made me decide to give this a chance.The bed arrived in about three days on my front porch. As expected (I had read that the box weighed about 85 pounds - no exaggeration here!) I could not lift the box to carry it inside (it was just too heavy for me) so I laid it flat on my front porch (it had arrived standing upright) and opened it there.The contents was EXTREMELY well packaged - it was a smaller box within the large box. The smaller box contained all of the parts - large and small styrofoam blocks everywhere, everything was welll-cushioned, thus un-blemished.The small parts (fasteners, screws and such) were shrink-wrapped onto sections on a piece of cardboard, with each section labeled with the corresponding part number to the directions - as an added bonus, there was also a section labeled "spare parts", with a few extras of each. I REALLY appreciated this thoughtfulness on the part of Zinus, as this guaranteed that I would have all of the parts required.The instructions were simple - mostly all graphic images (pictures) of the step-by-step assembly.The reason that the instructions were so simple is that this bed is incredibly well engineered - the design has really been carefully planned and carefully thought out. Because of this, the parts and assembly pictures exactly matched all of the actual parts.Not too much guess work here - I had one or two missteps at the beginning, only due to me inexperience in putting together such things. After more thinking, looking at what I had done and comparing it to the instruction, I saw my error, disassembled this first step, and it was smooth sailing from then on.It took me about an hour and fifteen minutes to put this bed together, only because I had to spend a few minutes at each assembly step staring at the instructions in order to understand if I was doing things correctly. Aside from the first step, I was.If I had this to do over again (or if I had been a person with experience in such things) I'm guessing that I could have put this bed together in a half hour, tops.And I LOVE LOVE LOVE this bed! It is beautiful, exactly what I was hoping for (I purchased the one with the headboard), although expensive (for me) it is a quality item and totally worth the price. I know I will enjoy this bed for many, many years to come.So, if you are contemplating getting this bed, even if you are "older" and even if you have no experience in do-it-yourself furniture assembly, I would say GO FOR IT! When it comes, don't be in a rush, study the instructions, only open the shrink wrapped parts sections as you need them (and be sure to put the parts in a dish or a pan or something so that they don't roll under your chest of drawers and disappear!), take your time - and soon you will have a beautiful new bed.The only thing I would say to Zinus is that the photos on the page for the bed were poor quality (the photos, NOT the bed), blurry and out-of-focus. This almost stopped me from buying the bed right there and then - so, Zinus: better photos, more bed sales!Thanks for reading, everyone!! :-)

The frame looks great, went together easily and is sturdy. The parts were well protected in the package and a few extra assembly parts were provided in case you lost or damaged some. Cool little tool provided as well, to help with assembly.The frame/mattress are used in a guest room so I haven’t tried it yet other than a quick nap. Based on that, I expect it to be pretty solid. I think it was definitely worth the price.

Nothing fancy, looks fantastic and simple, natural. I assembled on my own took me longer than most because I suffer from an injury. Sturdy, and comfy.

I ordered this bed frame when I was moving from a college dorm to my first unfurnished apartment. Of course it had to be my luck that the queen sized frames sold out and I had to back order mine. It was well worth the two month wait. It looks fabulous in my bedroom and it’s great not having to sleep on a mattress on the floor anymore.This was super easy to put together, it is great quality and super heavy. I tested it by shaking the frame with and without the mattress and there was no squeaking at all. Once the mattress was on it, the frame wouldn’t budge. It has a great amount on clearance underneath, my dog loves to squirm underneath and chill out down there.I am highly satisfied with this, it was super easy to put together once I realized that the instruction booklet actually opened. The ratcheting Allen wretch that they include made the whole thing so much easier on my wrists, I have absolutely no soreness after screwing the whole thing together by myself.

Waited for several weeks to do this review as we wanted to see how "things went" for a while with assembly and use of this bed frame. To be brief, it is a solid, quiet and nice looking wooden bed frame.First to note, is the use of finger jointed wood. Makes good use of wood scraps however, one has to hope the process used in joining/gluing the wood pieces together is up to par longevity-wise. That said, the fit appeared to be acceptable. The finish of the wood however, is not the highest quality. On the two side boards, each (outside surface) had a "divot" where it appeared that a belt sander or something dug into a couple places. Generally speaking the bedding will cover these flaws, but QC from the manufacturer needs to be better as I wasn't expecting this. The wood stain used is a nice & universal dark wood color so it should blend well with your other dark wood bedroom furniture.Secondly, the mechanical assembly was well thought out in the overall design of this bed frame. The only minor issue we had was with the metal support brace where one of the three metal legs was drilled & tapped for a larger bolt...why that was will be a forever unanswered mystery. Again, QC needs to be better. So, I had to make a quick trip to the hardware store for a replacement (metric). Assembly is intuitively easy...you really don't need instructions. I did cut some leftover carpet remnants for use as pads & placed these under each of the feet to help protect the floor. The supplied support slats, which have velcro attached, were evenly spaced and should be sufficient with support for any mattress and not affect mattress warranties (if that is a concern). Clearance is around 7 inches, so storing anything under the bed will be limited in height. Depending on your mattress thickness and use of/or not using a box spring may result in sitting a little low...so keep that in mind. You can always buy various sizes of risers/platforms/bunky boards to get to the height you desire.Thirdly, the packing/shipping carton is amazingly brilliant in how the manufacturer did this to protect the product inside....kudos to them.Lastly, this is a solid bed frame delivered in a box. Not the finest in finish quality but overall, it is surprisingly adequate whether you have low, mid or high class standards. We purchased this to use as an interim bedframe while we continue to look for a complete matching bedroom furniture set. We may just skip looking for another (furniture matching) frame as this one is performing well enough. I knocked off one star in the review because of the two QC issues mentioned....your mileage may vary. Thanks.***EDIT: Do note there are different variations of bed frames being offered. Some have smaller sized side rails/boards that appear to have resulted in issues for some folks. As noted in the ad for the Deluxe version we purchased......"Deluxe bed frames are compatible with people who need greater weight support as it has thicker (5.75 inch frame) side rails on the side."

So easy to assemble with step-by-step instructions and good quality for the price.

I purchased this bed in a double for my son and we loved it so much that when I upgraded him to a queen 4 years later, I bought the same one. It has held up great and still looks brand new. It shipped quickly and even though the box was torn up, the frame was so well packaged there were no scratches or dents. It went together easily (1 hour by myself) and is nice and sturdy. 10/10 purchase.

Bought this for my 3 year old because we needed a head board that was on the lower side because his bed sits directly underneath his window. This bed frame is perfect. It was easy to build (disclaimer: I didn’t build it. My husband and my 3 year old did but it looked like it was easy. They had it done in less than an hour and my husband didn’t sweat once, so that’s a good sign!) it’s sturdy and my son loves his big boy bed. Truly Lovely frame. The colour is a little darker than pictured but it really doesn’t bother me. It’s truer in colour to the picture I added if anyone needs a reference.

We had to outfit 3 guest bedrooms and decided to go with this bed frame to keep costs down. This bed frame is really nice and sturdy!! Very easy to set up. Compared to other bedframes installed in the past - it totally measures up!

Decent price and exactly what you expect. Looks like the pictures, easy to assemble.
