I tried these as a replacement for the halogens in our hall light. They are cool and bright. I recommend

Good bulb.
Bulb as described. Fitted our bathroom lighting perfectly provided sufficient light. Competitively priced, Easy to install, arrived quickly and well packaged. Would buy again.

Bright light
The product arrived in excellent condition and very prompt. Fitting the was easy and the white light was such a change from the halogens they replaced (they worked for a start) did notice that after being on a long time they flashed, so with people following people straight after each other they flash but normal use okay. Still trying to figure that out. Good price and easy to order.

Works well as a replacement for halogen bulbs - with one proviso
We have a 12-bulb G4 based lighting fitment in our dining room. Even with halogen bulbs, the energy efficiency was poor - 12 times 30 watts! The first set of bulbs I bought were too big to fit inside the shades - and too bright, and too white!These match the existing bulbs well in terms of brightness and colour temperature, BUT when I replaced all 12 bulbs with these LEDs and turned the lights back on, there was a brief flicker of light, and then they all went out. This is becasue the transformer isn't a dedicated LED transformer. The trick is to keep one halogen bulb in place - then they all work. The photo shows this new 11+1 arrangement. Can you detect which is the old halogen bulb?Very pleased that my consumption when the lights are on has gone down from 360 watts to 44 watts.

They flicker for about 10 minutes when first switched on. After that they work fine.

Noice
So far the brightness is great, they make a buzzing noise which may be just be my cooker hood, but just incase I thought I would mention it. the longevity is yet to be seen and I haven't really noticed any energy saving as the previous 20W bulbs didn't take much anyway... overall I guess its a good idea to lower the rating and save pennies in the year, it all adds up in the end and I have brighter lighting :-)
