Price vs. Bandwidth Regression
We did a number of regressions of quality indicators by price for ALL current digital scopes, and the best price/feature fit was by megahertz bandwidth measured. The y=mx+b regression factor (Excel LINEST) is .1295 with a 99% fit to data for 100 scopes available today, so if you divide megahertz desired by that factor, you'll get a close estimate of what you'll have to pay for the best scopes. We tried to put the full regression in this listing as a picture, but Amazon doesn't always get what we're trying to do and sometimes removes it! Just put your mhz in 50 mhz increments from 50 to 1,000, divide by the regression coefficient (.1295) and you'll get a good estimate. For 50, you get about $386, which is quite accurate, making this scope reasonable for the price, focusing on bandwidth alone (25).UPDATE June 2013 and NOTE TO EMAILERS: We're getting a wide split of "wow cool" from folks who get regressions to "huh?" from folks who don't. All the above means is a guide to your best and average pricing no matter which portable DSO you look at. There is a high correlation between bandwidth and price according to our research of over 100 units (statistically significant above 33 units). The formula above shows you how you can plug a number into Excel or your calculator, and get a baseline price for ANY bandwidth, then compare to either your budget, or other models. It is purely to help you with your decision process, based only on two factors.I also answered a frequent question about screen capture -- yes, you can capture and store up to 4 waveforms, and there is a rudimentary Windows interface accessing reasonable but not large storage. This unit does use fast fourier transforms for analysis. For pdfs of specs and comparisons for all models, check out owon's web site-- it is in HK, but is in English and pretty good! We're LOVING this scope even after many uses and in comparison to much more expensive big brothers and sisters.

Good scope over all. Don't need the commercial at boot up.
I recently found a way to access alternate universes. This scope has been very useful in my plan to observe andPossibly later cross over. We mad scientist have budgets. Gear is nonetheless needed thus this is a lot ofBang for your buck. I have discovered recently. That low frequency radio waves and high voltageFields can allow you for the briefest period see into alternate versions of our reality . ( sorry can't give specifics)My research however is hampered by budgets and given that I can not get grants at this time I amStuck with limited funding. Keep in mind that this is not necessarily a bad thing. For instance , aColleague recently had to spend quite a bit of money secretly fixing the damaged caused by a (vortex)Worm hole in his toilet. It took considerable effort to collapse it and the damage to the apartment andSewage was considerable.(not to mention that there is a slight time differential as a result that can not be fixed . But eh. It's canada so whatever...)Luckily for him ,his dad is a contractor... Messy business to be assured. So in the end . Budgets are good . Because some scientist are not very careful. And you don't want crazy thingsLike matter transporters that only transport living flesh. (Some people should never be seen naked! Newt gingrinch for instance)Or worm holes where the other end comes out 2 miles from the sun. Or worse. Nanites that replace allThe bed bugs in hotels , do the same things as bed bugs .BUT can never be killed. ever. Useless except to pester and feed off memories that they erase as they invade your neurons through your eye sockets at night ... I am sure they are not around anymore...btw. But prob stay away from the motel 6 in Corpus Christi ...conclude that this is a great scope. For low dough.

Broken On Arrival
Well, I took a chance and it didn't pay off this time. The units screen was broken right out of the box. The box showed no signs of damage so the sope had to be packaged in its broken state. Notified Owon twice with no reply. Not good. Granted, its a cheap scope but I expect to receive it in working order. My present opinion is to stay away from Owon products. They simply aren't worth taking the chance.UPDATE: It's been over a week since I notified Owon of the broken product I received. All I have gotten back are autoreplies saying they will get back to me ASAP. Which has not happened. These people have hundreds of dollars of my money and I have their broken scope. BEWARE OF OWON!!!!!

Quality is better than what you would expect for the price!
It's a digital oscilloscope, which has its pros and cons, but for my purposes, it's an awesome deal! Way cheaper than your top of the line models, which can get up in the thousands of dollars. Unless you need super high precision, this will do just fine. It's a little noisy (as in signal noise, not loud noises. In that regard, it's dead silent), but as I said, for my purposes, the little noise is still more than enough to be able to look at it and see what's going on. Also, it comes with a USB cable, and the software to install it on a Windows box, so you can capture data from it. Although, I'm still having trouble figuring out how to use the software, and the software wouldn't install on Windows 7 from the CD that came with it, I had to download the software from their website, but it works now, so it's whatever. I just wish their help files were a little more helpful on how to use the software that came with it, but for this price, I still find it hard to complain. If you want the good stuff, be prepared to pay up to 10x the price of this.
