When my now-ex wife moved out of the house a couple of years ago, I needed to learn how to cook. This is my second blow torch - it's wonderful for creme brule, browning shepard's pie, and great for giving that extra crust to a suse vide pork tenderloin.I like how powerful the flame is, and it's easy to light. My older blow torch needed to be refilled with butane, which was never an easy process.What I like about this blow torch is that it will fit right on top of a propane bottle - I have a bunch of them from my camping supplies. It will also fit onto a butane tank, too. It's much better than the cheaper one that it replaced.For cooking, it's really wonderful - but I do have to dial down the flame a bit to make sure I can get a precision crust. I like it :)

I cook a lot and enjoy being able to sear without using the oven broiler; gave this two stars (instead of one) only because it does produce a good strong flame but unfortunately, when you tilt it downward, the flame goes out and you have to re-ignite. Too late to return it but I will definitely be buying a different model, so learn from my mistake, i.e., don't go for 'cheap' and expect a good outcome.

Bought this as a gift for my partner to replace his small kitchen torch and it's been great. We don't cook with it but we do bake and it's been great, especially for oils and waxes. Way easier than trying to fill a butane torch and a lot cheaper when you use propane.

Didn’t realize how much I needed/would use this darn thing!!!! From starting the fire pit, to starting my smoker, to starting up my Cajun deep fryer!!! 10/10 would buy again when this gives out

Perhaps one of the best ways to light charcoal. Attach a Coleman camping propane bottle and fire away.

We had an ice storm in Ohio. We had a doctor appointment and the windshield was covered with ice. Used the blow torch to thaw it out. Saved us. I would highly recommend this item.You can turn it down low enough to use in the kitchen and high enough to produce a good flame for other reasons.

Works exactly as advertised. I could use this in the kitchen with confidence. Now I have found several other situations where it came in handy, such as for crafts and mycology!
