Does what it says
Even though I vacuum-pack food with a FoodSaver before chucking it in the sous-vide pot, the inevitable gaps that occur with some items (like chicken wings straight out of the freezer) cause the bags to float. Throw one of these on the errant bag and it's staying submerged. What more is there to say? Sometimes a single-tasker is useful and nice to have around, no matter what Alton Brown might say about such things. :)

It's ok.
I wish it was in a shape of a square vs a rectangle, it would work better. I still have to use other weights which was what I was trying to avoid.

Better alternative to weights or magnets IMO
Like that it doesn't come in contact with food, plus it's SS so much more sanitary. Does the job of keeping foods submerged. No clean up involved. Just air dry. I would have liked to have clamps on all 4 corners so you could wrap length, or width wise. There was a very similar, more expensive option, but this was already an expense for something you could fashion yourself if you wanted to do so.

Nice product, nice price, nice features
You can pay more and possibly get less with competitive chain product--this one comes with a latching feature so you can actually lock the weight around your vacuum package. The chain net works much better than some weight placed on top of the vacuum package; this one won't fall off.I've used it once and liked it so much I just ordered a second one for my vacation home--believe me: you need this thing--it keeps the entire vacuum package submerged so you get complete cooking. Without it part of your package may be at the surface and not attain a food-safe temperature.
