Needing to replace some simple trays, I couldn't believe how horrible reviews were on virtually every type of tray I found on them interwebs. It was like, is it really that hard? I spent way more time looking than I care to admit.In the end, I chose the BirdRock and I am happy that I did. I find the tray to be quite sturdy. It's large enough for full sized plates to fit without jamming against an edge. It's not the smoothest, and that's where a star goes missing. I also happen to like the raised edges. Some people may find that annoying, but when you sit and stand, things slide around. This helps things from falling off.I would purchase these again.

No, the legs do NOT stay open! We have had several near-misses, with a tray full of food or drink! The legs don’t stay tightened and when you sit down, one or the other side legs will flop in, and there goes your meal. Husband has *lightly* tightened legs on both trays, over four times. We’ve had the trays since Thanksgiving, so barely 4-weeks. There is no locking washer under the bolt or screw to keep legs tight when extended. If you open the legs twice, you need to retighten again. This is NOT a tray for daily or occasional users, or seniors / children, as you must be cautious where and when you set down your tray with a meal or drinks, so as not to fall or tip. The walnut color is nice and the size is good. Easy to carry and maneuver, just not safe or sturdy! The shipping was very quick. The first day we removed from box and bag, the surface splintered on one. We are not hard or rough on our furniture or things. Would NOT recommend.

I am near bedridden, and meals were always wobbly affairs, impossible to use unless I'm in my chair. This is a bed tray, standing easily above my lap, and big enough to hold my entire lunch.Plus, it makes me feel like a glamorous movie star, having my breakfast in bed.Edited in August: dropped this product to 3 stars, because after four months the whole thing fell apart. Four months!! Bought it 4-18; fell apart 8-18. Annoying as heck.

I'm very happy with my breakfast table from BirdRock. This is a beautiful walnut color just like the picture, excellent craftsmanship, and the legs stay in place with tight screw fittings. Legs are long and provide a good table height; I can easily pull my legs out from under the table. It's a good height that my small 13 lbs dog loves to crawl under the table and "hang out" there. This is much better than my IKEA table and worth the extra $5 to upgrade for a superior quality breakfast table. It's simply perfect for my needs and classy looking. I highly recommend for the great quality and reasonable price of $23. Will purchase again.

I bought this tray to use after I have back surgery. I'm highly disappointed. The legs are flimsy and dont stay open. They also dont stay tucked under the tray when lifted. The handles are rough and have sharp edges. They have little pieces of wood coming off. If I cant fix it then I'll be returning it.

I only ordered one to see if I liked the product and I did! So I ordered a second one. Unfortunately it arrived with a split down the middle of the tray bottom. I reached out to the seller and after providing a photo of the damaged tray, they immediately sent me a replacement. So now I have two. Not only can they be used with the legs, the legs fold so you can use it as a serving tray. I will be using them at home and I plan to take them on travel. We love to go on picnics and these will be perfect for that.

I ordered two of these for my children (5 & 7) to use on the floor when we eat dinner in front of the TV (carpeted area). They held up well enough for a month or so, but then started falling apart. The edges came off of the tray and the legs didn't sit even. I was able to fix it well enough with some heavy duty glue, but I ordered one more to eventually replace the next broken one. Well, the other tray broke yesterday (sides came undone and the base of the tray split), so I pulled out the extra I had only to find it had a huge crack through it before I even unboxed it. And since I ordered it over a month ago, I missed the chance to replace it. So overall, they are good and they work, as long as you're not hard on them at all. If these are for kids or near children or anyone who might drop them at all, I would recommend finding something different.

I used it twice and paint is already chipping. Otherwise a functional product.

Disappointed, the bottom of the tray hadn’t been stained properly on the sides so it looks really ugly.

bad design.. keeps falling over. threw them in the garbage already.
