So that being said the 12 volt DC pump should operate safely with a power (voltage) source of 10.5 to 13.5 volts DC, so you 24 volts DC would MOST CERTAINLY cause serious damage to the pump motor. Insco Electric makes it Buck and Boost transformer for less than $10.00 that would be a safe and inexpensive fix, or you could use a Diode, witch would be more difficult to incorporate one into a safe enclosure and power connection.
