Worked great for first timer
Bought this to do my first fret level, it worked perfectly, was easy to hold and precise with good weight. I bought a roll of quality 400 grit adhesive paper so I don’t test the included paper but it looked like there was enough to do a couple guitars.

Smooth works strung as shown.
Works very well to dress your fret ends making them especially smooth! I would have given it 5 stars but they didn't include very much sanding papers, only 4 pieces of different grades what are sticky taped. Seems insufficient for normal use.

nice tool
this is solidly built. originally I thought it came with sandpaper but it is actually a diamond grit surface on the bottom so it's functionally equivalent to a file, such as the one from StewMac. This has the added advantage of being able to level frets with the strings on if so desired. this replaces a leveling beam with sandpaper for me, it's much more convenient (no need to stick new sandpaper on each time) and also it gives much more control for local leveling. for $25 this is a great deal if you do a lot of fret jobs. much cheaper than the StewMac fret leveling file.

Works great. Don’t listen to negative reviews - they don’t know what they’re doing.
First of all ignore the reviews that say it’s too thick. They don’t know what they are doing and shouldn’t doing their own fret leveling. If your action is very low then just loosen your strings a little. I like my action medium high so it fit under my strings no problem. Only had a small area to level on a new guitar so I got the shorter one. Comes with 600 grit which is perfect for not overdoing a small area. Also put some black permanent marker on the top of the fret so you see what you have sanded and when it’s level. Remove it . Test that buzz is going. Do a little more if buzz not gone. Then if you need to polish that area, loosen strings in that area and use a fret polish

Great for leveling
This beam is nice and dead straight but a bit thick to do under string leveling unless you raise the nut and bridge quite a bit. Still a great beam for the price and you could still make it work for back bowed necks that need string tension for straightness with extra work of raising bridge and nut.
