Never use the blue gel again, this works so well for Fondue pots of all kinds
Like all butane devices, it takes a bit to learn how to fill it due to variations on nozzles and input valves. Also had to play with the ignitor plate... bent it back in place so a perfect spark was acheived... Once filled and ready to go, it produced both a consistent low flame and a nice high flame.....I have two and two more on order so I can swap them out during fondue parties.....they will run about an hour on higher temps, a bit longer on the lower temps used for cheese.

The reservoir is too small!
This burner is solid and high quality. The ignition sparker had been bent in the one I received, but it was easy to bend it back straight. The switch and the igniter work well and the unit feels solid. The flame adjustment works well and the burner throws a lot of heat. However, it has a tiny reservoir, going from full to empty in 20-25 minutes. The burner is then, hot enough that you can't refill it until it has 5-10 minutes to cool. I don't see how anybody could use this as a chafing dish, or for fondue pots, or for anything else it is advertised for except for coffee urns.On the bottom of the unit, it says that it consumes 56g of butane per hour. I check with my kitchen scale, and the reservoir can hold up to 23g of butane. I have seen other burners of the same size keep a pot simmering for over an hour. I'm frustrated with my purchase. :(

Great Butane Burner for Tabletop Vacuum Pot Coffee
This is a great burner that I use with my Yama vacuum pot coffee maker. Clean burning (butane) fuel source, adjustable flame controls and very very safe. I recommend getting the large cans of butane used for larger stoves that you might find at a camping shop. If you get the lighter refills it will run out quickly and also be a waste of money. My only complaint about this is that the ignition does not work due to its positioning. The little spark is to far away from the vents that release the fuel and thus it never manages to start the burner. Easy solution is to use another source (BBQ lighter in my case) and it will light right up!

Poor design or defective product?
This burner won't start fire after turning the switch on! It needs a lighter to make it work, so we are disappointed.

Messy to refill
The burner works great for my siphon coffee maker. The flame control goes very high and has a good range. When completely filled, I can get a good 15 minutes with it. The only issue I have (and this might just be me) is that when I refill it sprays everywhere. I am using the large canisters that are primarily for the table top stoves and some reason, it does not seal perfectly when i insert it at the bottom of the burner. The result is butane shooting out the side of the can's nozzle as I refill the burner. I do this over my sink with a paper towel wrapped around the can's nozzle to contain the gas and then run the vents for a while before lighting a flame, but nearly gave myself frostbite because my finger was next to the nozzle when the pressurized gas was shooting out the side. I think it might just be the cans I am using to refill.

Very pretty, poor quality
Ordered one. The electronic ignition did not work. I tried adjusting the position of the spark post, but no success. Ordered a replacement. This time the ignition worked but the flame ran cold (burned with a fluffy orange flame, not blue and focused) and there's no way to adjust the air/fuel ratio to correct that. Sent the second unit back for a refund and ordered a Yama burner. A little more expensive, but it worked fine right out of the box. We'll see how long that lasts. Maybe it was just the luck of the draw, but it seems Wall Lenk doesn't care much about quality control.

a fast, safe, solid, and stable burner for your siphon coffee maker
Don't let the crappy packaging fool you, there is an excellent product inside. Just the right height to use with my Hario "Technica" 5 cup siphon. Works much faster than the included alcohol burner. The controls are simple and easy to understand and use. The flame is hot and easily adjustible from boil mode to maintain temp mode. The butane fuel is relatively cheap, easily obtained in many retailers, and easy to refill when needed. Sturdy heavy chrome base feels durable and provide a safe solid base for the burner. It won't accidently tip over and set your home on fire unless you are deliberately careless. I'm so happy I decided to spend a little extra for this burner. One tip: fill the boiling flask of your siphon brewer before placing the burnerin position underneath. If you are a spaz like me, the little water you dribble over the edge of the flask will drip right into the burner. Not the end of the world, but if you get it wet it does require a thorough drying before the burner will light.

Excelente mechero!
