VIPRE Internet Security 2013 1PC [Old Version]

As far as I can tell,it does what it's supposed to, but I've had huge problems with my computer. I like the scan settings that enable quicker scans (Mcafee sometimes took 10-12 hours!), BUT I've had to do more "restores" in the past 2 months than I've had to do in the previous 5 YEARS!It does use 95-100% CPU resources, which is one of the things I didn't like with McAfee. Yesterday, I turned on my computer and it used 100% resources for 20 minutes before I finally forced a shutdown and had to do a restore to get it to work. (No, it was not a scan. :) )I also don't like that it tries to update ALL my programs. 100% CPU usage to update programs I only use once a year! Talk about annoying. Many, many problems. Will probably go back to McAfee.

I've been using Vipre for several years. You won't find better. That saidI ordered this for my wife's laptop. I was given the option of download and be sent an activation code or a boxed copy. Call me old school as I prefer to have a CD, I opted for a boxed copy and the associated wait for the CD to come in the mail. I was shipped a box with a slip of paper in it. Activation code was printed on the slip of paper and warnings "Do Not Lose this Slip of Paper"....Really...a couple of months prior to ordering this copy I ordered a lifetime copy of Vipre for my desktop and was given the same option of downloading or order a boxed copy. I ordered the boxed copy and did receive a CD disk with that order.You won't find better software or a prettier box........

I purchased the Vipre Internet Security software as it was reviewed well. Unfortunately, it required significant amount of on-going feedback & direction to firewall & access requests. As a result, my computer was infected & disabled within a week of uploading the software, which is a new/first experience for me. Back to Avast that provides much better protection with minimal direction for me.

Did a search for the best internet security software out and this one had the highest marks. I can honestly say I love it. I was a little concerned with downloading the software online but it has yet to disappoint. I really like the history cleaner function it has.

Installing software generally does not go as easily as the software company makes it seem. If you have good eyesight and plenty of light, you should be able to do this. Lacking these two elements, I missed the protion of the screen where you are supposed to type in the registration. You can't go back and type in the number and fix it so you end up with a 30 day trial - not what I wanted. Vipre's customer service staff were extremely helpful and had my error fixed in very little time. So far no virus problems on the computer.

I like the software most of the time. I have had a little problem overriding the blocking. I was disappointed there was no dvd in the box. I didn't like removing my previous security and downloads the Vipre from the internet.

Had difficulty installing due to previous antiviral software uninstall failed. Called their helpline and got a real person. Directed on how to uninstall previous antiviral and installation proceeded without incident. Ran full scan and it found things other antivirals had missed. So far, very pleased.

Works for me, the download was easy, the price was fair and customer service knew what they were talking about
