When you are mine
I liked this book but it was not one of his best. An enjoyable read and well thought out plot which one didn't see until the end but knew there was something funny going among the police. I think he is superb writer and will always buy his books.

Another great read from one of my favorite writers! I’ve read all his books! He had me hooked on the first words back in 2001! Do yourself a favor! Read all his books!

drivel
i have enjoyed reading all of Robotham's previous books . i find it unlikely he wrote this one himself . it is little more than a juvenile soap opera. the plot lines are lame and cheesy and implausible . i gave up half way through out of complete disinterest . i hope to see the return of the real Mr Robotham in the future.

Doesn't ring true
This is the story of Philomena (Phil) McCarthy, a policewoman who loves her job and tries to forget that her father and uncles are notorious London villains. Phil and her partner are called to a domestic violence incident. Phil deals with the alleged perpetrator and then goes on to become a personal friend of the victim. Her handling of this relationship is incredibly naive and she is extremely gullible. Her life unravels because of her own foolish actions. As she says herself, she acted with "witless stupidity". I found it impossible to believe that someone with Phil's background and policing experience could be so monumentally dumb and I had to suspend an awful lot of disbelief in order to get to the end of this novel. By the time I reached the conclusion, I had ceased to have any sympathy for Phil and didn't care how it all worked out.
