Haven't actually tried yet..have had my salt lamp for many years, and bulb blew& needed changing; when I pulled socket out from base of lamp, existing bulb had broken off its metal base, and couldn't remove, actually breaking black plastic base holding socket, in my attempts; was ready to buy whole new salt lamp, before seeing this item; thought worth a try first, and it fit perfectly!..all my lamps are on timers, so I'll be surprised tonight;hoping it just turns on without issue..

My brand of Salt Lamp is a Crystal Decor, which is a basket style lamp. The original cord stopped working after almost three years of constant use, which I was bummed about. I use the salt lamp as a soft nightlight on my nightstand. Anyway, the bulb portion of this particular cord was too large to insert into the cavity of my salt lamp by a millimeter or so, just a smidge to wide in diameter. It was disappointing and I don't want to leave bad review for a product that I wasn't even able to try. I did want to caution those prospective purchasers looking for a replacement cord. When I looked up questions under my original product, people said that I could easily buy a replacement cord here and all of them appear to be this same style. I cannot find a replacement cord particular to the Crystal Decor lamp unfortunately, but this will likely work on most other brands. The cord appeared to be well made and had the UL sticker and dimmer, so it met all the other requirements.

Works as described

If your salt lamp uses a european bulb size, just buy one of these, it'll save you a lot of grief in the long run. I bought a very nice salt lamp for my wife, and the bulb blew out the moment I plugged it in, my wife was not impressed. I took the bulb out and tried to match it with the usual curio bulbs I kept around the house, no luck there. I went to the hardware store and thought I had gotten the right bulb, but I was wrong again. So a little internet search latter, and I realized this was a size that is not common in the U.S., so finding replacement bulbs was always going to be a problem. So I went on to Amazon and found this standard replacement that uses standard bulbs and "voila", a day and a half later, I plugged in my wife's pink rock, and it lit up quite nicely and she decided it was a cool gift after all...

The original cord was very cheap and the bulb base cracked when screwing in a new bulb. The HemingWeigh replacement cord is of significantly better quality and fits the base of my Himalayan salt lamp perfectly. Plus, with this fixture, the bulb is deeper into the lamp giving a nicer, warmer glow.

When I ordered this I somehow did not notice that there are in fact two different items pictured. I needed the replacement chord on the bottom and received the one pictured on the top. This would not have been an issue except that style of cord does not allow the salt lamp to sit flat. I had to shim up the base of the lamp so that it would sit flat. It seems fine after some extra work!

I like that you can adjust the brightness. My daughter uses it as a night light.

This works perfectly. The only inconvenience is that the stem of the bulb base is a tad long, but I just put the lamp on its side for now and it’s fine.

Well, at least it works! BUT!!! but, who ever designed it completely forgot that the bottom is suppose to sit flat.. so having the electrical cable come straight down really isn't very smart... not sure what they were thinking? Drill a hole through the table for the cable?
