Replacement Portafilter Compatible with GAGGIA 53mm Espresso Machines, 2 Spout, 14g Basket - by EDESIA ESPRESS

Very sturdy and fits perfectly to a Gaggia Carezza Deluxe. Have used this for over a year with no issues. Bizarrely, the basket is not magnetic, but this doesn't pose a major issue even if you use a dosing funnel. Just worth knowing.

Probably wouldn't have bought a gaggia if this wasn't available. It can fit 15-16g of coffee if you want to cram it in. A 53.3mm filter screen fits nicely.

I thought I was doing everything right, I replaced the standard spring in the machine to lower the pressure, I followed the great video from Tom's Coffee Corner that recommends and demonstrates this product. I had a day or two of great espresso and then out of nowhere the gasket popped and the portafilter came loose. It hasn't been the same since. Squirting, spraying, leaking over the edges, coming loose, you name it. I've wasted so many decent beans. It's such a shame as it's beautiful, but the poor seal is going to damage the gasket on the machine, if it hasn't already. Switching back to the stock portafilter and hoping for the best. In hindsight I regret buying this Gaggia model. I guess this is why good espresso machines cost a lot, time to start saving!

This is a well made and pleasant looking portafilter. Unfortunately it is not fully compatible with my Gaggia Espresso Style machine. It does lock in place correctly, but it does not form a good seal and water leaks when pulling a shot. I've persevered without success and have now reverted to the stock portafilter where I have no problems.

Honestly, I was a bit skeptical this could have improved my coffee even a bit, but it did. The handle is plastic with a brass portafilter and a standard basket. Update Jan 2023: The portafilter is still perfect, and the coffee is amazing. Of course, I need to add that I reduced the pressure on my gran gaggia style from 15 to 9 bar, as all the mods for the gaggia classic are compatible with mine as well as many other gaggia machines. Again, recommended

Gone back to using the stock portafilter. Got great results with the original portafilter but this one just spurts coffee everywhere no matter what pressure it's run at and even with a brew group screen on top. The fit is good so that's not an issue. The design is such that it doesn't sit flat and coffee tracks down the handle before dripping everywhere. Well made but per function. Avoid.

Basket overlaps the edge so it just over flows and makes a mess.

Looks well made. Feels good.. but can't get a great extraction as when the coffee is ground fine enough to aim for a 30 second Ish shot the portafilter can't handle it and starts leaking water.. .or worse still pops out of the machine creating a complete mess. Il

Excellent porta filter. It fit perfect on the Gran Gaggia. I have a great grinder and good quality beans so everything worked as expected. A bit pricey but so far all expectations met

Ho sostituito il portafiltro originale di una Gaggia Carezza Deluxe ad alta pressione con questo, l'operazione è stata un pò "elaborata" in quanto ho dovuto abbassare anche la pressione di erogazione tramite molla dalla valvola a fungo. Per una bevanda ottimale occorre trovare il giusto grado di macinazione (piuttosto fine), quindi soltanto caffè in chicchi almeno fino a quando non troverò un caffè già macinato "idoneo". Per quanto riguarda il portafiltro questo è con filtro "singolo" da 7 grammi, prodotto come ho già scritto nel titolo eccellente, avendo lavorato per molti anni in un bar, ricordo i portafiltri delle varie Rancilio, Gaggia professionali, ebbene questo è ancora migliore, l'acciaio dopo mesi ancora non ha un righino, sembra veramente di materiale indistruttibile, ottimo davvero. Credo, ma non sono sicuro che svitando il beccuccio con chiave adatta vi si possa montare anche il manometro per la misurazione della pressione di erogazione.

Il prodotto è fatto bene e bello massiccio. Con un pò di prove sono riuscito a ottenere un buon caffè anche dalla mia mia Gaggia carezza de luxe. Ho anche cambiato la molla dell'opv mettendone una da 9 bar.
