A powerful all in one package
The Thinkscan SD4 is a great all around tool for all sorts of automotive diagnostic tasks. From scanning for codes to looking at live data to all sorts of resets this tool can do way more than its price would suggest. One thing that I found different about the Thinkscan SD4 was that it has a long list of reset functions and when you buy the tool it comes with 3 reset functions that you can pick from the large list. The list is very impressive to be honest and being able to pick what I wanted on the tool was a nice feature. I picked throttle relearn, oil resets and steering angle resets, but there are many options and if you want more than the 3 it came with you can purchase others right through the tool. The software on the tool is very thorough it can show you way more than basic information. It even has excellent graphing to let you watch sensor output, temperature over time, or any other parameter IDs in the computer's data stream. The abundance of information that this tool provides is where it really shines. When I scanned my Toyota it had a PID (parameter ID) for alternator duty cycle which lets me know the amount of output to expect from the charging system. This kind of information is invaluable in diagnosing today's complicated vehicles.I have been impressed with the speed of the Thinkscan SD4 it has a very good refresh rate for information and navigating through menus is quick and smooth. The screen was bright even in daylight and the case of the tool felt as though it could take the occasional drop without ruining the tool. All in all I would recommend this tool for anyone from professional technicians to a DIY owner that wants to figure out problems on their (or their friend's) vehicles.

Customer support sux
So I bouhjt this for my 2013 GMC 2500HD Gasser. I have an issue with the parking assistance sensor and it is not working properly. This scanner is supposed to read BCM where the codes are stored, it doesntread any codes. I called the manufacurer was on hold for the better part of 40min to finally be connected to a guy w broken english (very heavy accent) and a line that kept cutting out every 3rd word. I constantly had to repeat back to him what my issue was and he finally sent my question to the software team? Anyway bottom line is I still havent heard back this was 2 weeks ago. Should not have purchased this product but what is done is done.Update 12-31-23 No one ever got back to me on this problem as promised. This scanner is not that great. Yea it will do basic scan functions but it definitely isn't as great as it sounds. I have used it for a few other things like TPMS and it will not reset or relearn the sensors. If you notice there aren't any responses to reviews that are not good. This is bc customer service is non existent. Sad when you buy an electronic item of this type and there is no support.

A lot of capability for the money!
Lots of capability in this small device. The unit is powered through the OBDII port. Alternatively one can plug in the USB and it will power on. I did so, in the house, and ran through registration. The software also automatically updated to the latest versions. Update process is very easy (shown in first two photos - both in the house and while connected to the vehicle). The SD6 allows for selection of several additional services, which I also performed while sitting in my house. Once the SD6 was updated and registered, I ran several initial tests with my BMW X5. Once connected to the OBDII port, SD6 automatically determined my car. I ran diagnostics which "talked" to every computer in the car and displayed status. (photo shown). Other capabilities include various resets and registrations. I did not have any of those to perform at the moment, but I did test the ABS/DSC cycling for brake bleed, and it worked perfectly, just like the factory technician software would perform. The SD6 also provides the ability to read various sensors real time. I tested this by reading fuel pump voltage and amperage (seen in the last photo), while the vehicle was running.Given the cost of diagnostics at many shops (electrical hooking) rivals the cost of the SD6, this seems like a no brainer purchase. Even if not a mechanic or hobbyist, this diagnostic tool can give some basic insights to issues that a vehicle may have - well worth it!

BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!
Being in the Autobody industry, I know there are multi-thousand dollar scanners/programmers.However with most manufacturers, only a pre/post (health report) scan is required before and after repairs. It's not always the most peace of mind whipping out the $4k bi-directional scanner just to pre and post scan. I looked for an alternative but with budget/mid-range scanners, only EOBD was offered. I needed something that could produce a health reports that could be uploaded and provided to the customer. The SD6 is *CHEFS KISS* PERFECT! Takes 30 seconds to set up once you connect to WiFi. This scanner does BOTH EOBD and BODY! It can read I/M readiness, live data, and produce a health report that goes over the vehicle's "Systems" (ADAS, SRS, BCM, ECM, etc.). You then have to email yourself or your customer the report which opens up a link to their special document viewer or you can e-mail a PDF version. This scanner has not had any problems identifying cars yet (Have tried as old as 98 and as new as 2022). There are 5 free "functions" you can choose from to unlock for full feature usage but I have yet to need any yet so I am saving them for a later time. I refer to this scanner as an "informer" more than a "re-programmer" though. It will provide you most of the information you would need for your car but it isn't any Autel or Bosche with re-calibrating capabilities.BEST scanner professionally, DIY, or hobbyist to have in your arsenal!
