Awesome! Very informative. This book is an easy to follow manual on how to become one of the top MUA's in your area. This book has definitely helped me get out of the "rut" i was in trying to decide if this path is really what I wanted to do. I absolutely love what I do and it never feels like work to me but when it came to the financial aspects of the business i was totally lost. I didn't know what to charge in fear of losing potential clients or worse not giving my work/time the credit it deserves and under charging. Its like she thought of everything! I honestly am so grateful she shared her path with us.

I really enjoyed this book, and I plan on following through with some of the ideas I found by reading it.

If you're an aspiring makeup artist, or even an experienced one, you MUST read this book. You can't afford not to. This is the most comprehensive and practical guide I've read for makeup artists, by far. It contains up-to-date, modern advice on everything from finances, to what to keep in your kit, to how to market yourself, all in a very well-written, easy-to-understand format.

Each person should check with the Health Department of their state. One state requires hours of training from a state approved school then must pass a state exam. Then one must have continuing education to keep their license current. For a business you can't put makeup on anyone unless you have a state license. So check with your state. A license in one state may not be transferable to another state. It's a great book with lots of advice and tips.

I have read a few books on starting a bridal makeup business. This is by far the most complete guide out there. She includes every detail that you need to know. I feel so much more confidence in starting my business. This helped me realize that I am making the right decision in changing career fields.

Best bang for your buck!! I am a makeup artist and was interested in what Mrs. Amundsen had to say about starting in the makeup industry, and I agree with her wholeheartedly. I was presently surprised that she wasn't discouraging while also brutally honest. One thing she said stuck with me was that if you want to become a Makeup Artist, and think that you get to walk into the room and be thanked and praised all day for your work, then you are highly mistaken - especially working bridal makeup! This is so true, and can really set you off when you are first starting out. Mrs. Amundsen really has a gift for giving great insight that is practical! Highly recommend!

This book provides basic guides which you can get from the Internet. The first book I've ever seen to have no page number. I returned it as I was not satisfied.

I am an aspiring makeup artist in the uk and I wasn't quite sure what was expected of me in the professional industry or where even to start and how to promote myself and make sure my future clients get the best possible service i can offer, but this handy little book broke down very important information that i wouldn't have otherwise known about in easy to read sections, from where to begin, what others would be looking for to recruit me, the tax/business jargon, contracts and legal information and general all round good advice. I am so glad i invested in this guide and would recommend if you were thinking about going pro or owning your own MUA business (be it in wedding makeup or makeup in general) then i would definitely say buy it! Worth every penny! :)

Practical, no nonsense advice that's not sugar coated but still fun to read. Feels like your big sister taking you by the hand to make sure you have all the right tools to succeed.
