Makartt Nail Stand Kit: Magnetic Nail Holder for Press-On Nail Art Painting

This review is for the 2 bases with pink stands: I give this a solid 3 stars because while it works as intended, there are a few things than be tweaked to make it better. First it would be nice if the stand where you place the nail was not so smooth. This would allow for the use of tacky paste to stick well and not move around. Also the magnets could be stronger. Overall I am using them and I took a nail file to the head of the stand to give it that texture I was looking for. Maybe a 2.0 version can have these tweaks. This review is for the 3 bases with clear stands: This fixed every single complaint I had. Three things stand out. First, the magnets are genuinely strong. When you set a nail down and pick up the entire base, nothing shifts or wobbles, which matters a lot when you are trying to do detailed work and need everything to stay exactly where you put it. Second, the size of the tip holder is just right. The part where the nail actually sits fits perfectly under the curve of the nail without being oversized. My previous stand had holders that were too large, which worked fine for bigger nails but was completely impractical for smaller ones like mine. This one accommodates smaller nails without any issue. Third, the finish on the tip holder is the detail that really sets this apart. My old stand had a glossy finish, and adhesive tabs would slide right off of it. This one has the right texture so tabs actually grip and stay put. That sounds like a small thing until you have lost a nail mid project because of a slippery surface. Hope this helps!

I love this item so much, I went from making my own nail stands out of straws and glue dots to this and it has been such a game changer. I was so excited I made my daughter a set of nails. I love the single flower so you can cure a nail at time if need be. The stands seem sturdy and it comes with plenty of tacky to hold the nails. The magnets could be a tad stronger but that is literally my only complaint!

Awesome quality for the price. Had to reglue one of the magnets within 2 uses. But it works and helps making your own press ons a breeze. Pretty colors and has everything you would need.

super cute. works perfectly. the paint/film pulls off or chips after putting the putty off from it, but other than that, it works just fine. the magnets have enough strength that they never fall off and the flower holder piece fits perfectly in my hands and gives me enough stability to paint

It’s a great item but I really wish I would’ve read throughly before I purchased. So it only comes with one magnetic bar so you can only do 5 nails at a time. It would’ve been great if it came with two so I could be polishing the other set while one is under the up light. It’s worth the price. It’s very cute and the sticky stuff that comes with it does hold the nails in place and can be reused for the next set. My only complaint is I wish it had another bar.

I feel so conflicted about this product. For the price, it’s fine, it works. It gets the job done. My biggest issue with these stands are how easy the magnets on the stand fall off. I have 2 stands that I purchased in October and within one month, every magnet had fallen off at least once and had to be glued back on. I have multiple stands from other brands at the same price point and have never had this issue. I have also had multiple nail stands snap in half. It feels very cheaply made, which again, for the price, makes sense. When I purchased the product, it had amazing reviews. No one mentioned it constantly falling apart, so I’m here to let you know… you get what you pay for. Save your money, buy custom stands on Etsy that are durable and high quality instead of replacing these every 2 months like I’ve had to do.

What should other customers know? I’ve been using this magnetic nail stand for about a month now, putting it to work multiple times for my DIY press-on designs, and it has held up really well so far! There are a lot of great features here, but a few things you should know before buying: Material: The base and stands are plastic, not metal. Because of this, the pink finish on the individual stands will chip and fade a bit over time with regular use and acetone/product exposure. The Magnets: The magnetic attachment works great. Each holder snaps securely to the base, but the absolute best part is being able to pick up an individual nail stand to work on fine details and painting, then snapping it right back into place. The Tape: The included double-sided sticky tape is strictly one-time use. It holds the tips down well while you work, but you'll need to cut a fresh piece for every new set you practice on. Overall, it’s a highly functional, budget-friendly tool for home DIY or practice. It isn't heavy-duty salon metal, but for the price and the convenience of the magnets, it gets the job done perfectly!

Beautiful! Love the silver color. I got the silver square one with ten pawns. Great size, and it can't tip over like the narrow ones. Magnets are strong. The low profile means it fits easily under my small beginner UV lamp. It has a thin, suede-like layer underneath, so it doesn't clang when I move it around. (Not grippy, though, so I can slide it. ) Minus one star because one of the pawns broke in half. The others hold up well to normal use, so it was probably just one slightly defective one and I was too rough with it. Nevertheless, I plan to buy two more.

First time using them, 2 broke off.
