Review: 2 different sized sets; enjoy both - I've purchased multiple sets of varying sizes for these and have had no issues so far. I would highly recommend taking a paper bag and "sanding" these sets down with it before using. It helps remove some of the splinter potential off the first use. My big set came perfect out of the box, and the smaller set had a hint of extra texture that you'd expect from a wooden product. Both sets have "polished" up similar to how wooden climbing holds do over time, but I very much have enjoyed these so far.

I've purchased multiple sets of varying sizes for these and have had no issues so far. I would highly recommend taking a paper bag and "sanding" these sets down with it before using. I have multiple grips that I utilize for doing pull ups on a regular basis. I own a set of 2 inch pistons that I have gotten very comfortable with, so I figured that I would give the Power Pistons a shot. Wow..I am humbled to say the least. These things are huge and at this point I can only manage 2 bodyweight pull ups with them. These things are without a doubt, the most difficult grips that I own (even more difficult than my 3 inch. rotating handles). I have my work cut out for me. I plan on using these first for one handed lat pull downs and then I will transition to negative pull ups, as I get more acclimated. I won't stop until I am banging out full reps with them...thanks for a solid product.
