I picked this up in the 9mm version, and it’s been one of the best training tools I’ve added to my setup. Right out of the box, it was easy to get going—set up the targets, drop in the laser cartridge, connect the app, and you’re ready to start putting in reps. What I really like is the ability to sight in new weapons and fine-tune my trigger control without burning through expensive ammo. With ammo prices these days, this system honestly pays for itself pretty quick. I’ve used it both to get a rough zero on new setups and to stay sharp between range trips. The app is solid too—tracks your shots, gives feedback, and turns practice into more of a challenge instead of just dry firing at a wall. It keeps things interesting and actually makes you want to keep training. Everything included in the kit feels well thought out, especially the multiple targets and phone setup. I’ve used it in my basement and even in the garage, and it’s been consistent every time. Overall, if you’re running a 9mm and want a cost-effective way to practice, improve accuracy, and get comfortable with your gear, this is absolutely worth it.

I am loving Mantis laser training academy. I can already see ways to improve my shots. For instance, I noticed that pull right slightly as I squeeze the trigger. On the range with the recoil it's harder to pinpoint exactly what I'm doing wrong. This is a great to save money on ammo while becoming a much better marksman. Lastly, the variety of drills, targets, and training courses available in the app keeps training fresh and keeps it from getting boring. Highly recommend.

Want something about anyone can use? Well you found the right tool for it all. This system works great! You can merely setup a single target or setup a course. This will ready you for the classes your about to take, help improve your aim, help you use techniques to better yourself, and best of all, you can do it anywhere an open firearm in your hand is allowed. I purchased the 9mm, and ended up getting a 556, 380, and 40s&w dry fire laser also found here on Amazon. All for wonderfully in the chamber (they are hard to remove due to o-rings keeping them snug). All work perfectly with this. I'm an absolute happy owner. If you're looking to do anything I've mentioned, this is definitely a route to exhaust and enjoy!

I held on on review until I used this several times. Note - I have not and likely won't use the live-fire features as i only shoot at ranges anyway, so the paper tells the story I need there. As for dry-fire training at home, it's a solid pretty good. We train as a family as use the app as a game style competition to practice with our every day firearms. All of us experience about a 20% rate of misfire...the app counts shots that aren't actually taken. We've had it happen standing still, as well as in motion, double counts from draw, etc. etc. Heck, It's very common for the app to record shots while I'm holstered, waiting for the start tone. It's also worth mention that there is no cartridge ejection, so the firearm needs to be "racked" or reset after each shot. Pros: 1) there's no recoil from the firearm, so anyone in the family can use it comfortably and safely (once the weapon has been confirmed cleared, safe and loaded with the laser cartridge of course), 2) trigger familiarity without recoil anticipation, 3) easy to understand, set up and use 4) saves time getting to and from the range on a more frequent schedule 5) saves money as there's less need to acquire "range ammo" Cons: 1) There's no recoil from the firearm, therefore no way to practice repeat fire for target re-acquisition. 2) No cartridge eject, so the weapon needs to be manually placed back into battery after each trigger pull. *Full disclosure, I haven't found any other dry fire systems that offer this capability either, nor am I even a little confident that it is technologically possible. 3) Not uncommon to experience dry-misfires. Out of the 3 of us that have used it in multiple sessions, I don't recall a 10 shot practice session that did not record at least 1 misfire. 2/10 seems average, but 3 misfires out of 10 attempts is not uncommon either. Overall worth the price as it unlocks the premium features that really make the app worth while (without the premium features this review would be far more negative), makes for a fun family "game" while improving shot technique and accuracy, and saved time and money as regular range sessions can be reduced in frequency.

This product is amazing. Great alternative if I miss the range due to work. Able to correct/work my draw and practice basic fundamentals without the cost of the range and ammo. Pros: Easy set up, Portable, everything is included. App tracks multiple weapons. Data is pretty close to what my shot timer displays. Cons: Resetting the hammer/striker each time. Makes it difficult for rapid follow up shot training Will definitely recommend

We really enjoy this system. It is fun and has lots of drills. You can setup target and just play around or use the app and track everything for improving your skills. There are several systems like this, I just chose Mantis because I like it. Packaged well, but I put everything in an Apache 3800 case (H.F. Tools) and it fits nicely. I can keep the stands, targets, camera sun shades and the Mantis case all tucked nicely in the Apache case ( I put the large target in the lid of the Apache case behind the foam and made a strap to keep it al there. I bought a .380, .223 and an additional 9mm laser to go with it. There are places in the Mantis case to store the extra lasers as well. I think it was well worth the price and i will get lots of use from it,

I've got about 3 hours in with training with this system. Works pretty well for the most part. As others have mentioned, the tripods could be a bit better - not a deal breaker though. Occasionally I have to futz with it because it won't recognize the target. And then it occasionally just starts recording shots when my firearm is in the holster. So I just wait it out and then restart the drill. Overall, I think it is a useful system with some minor issues.
