PB16-Ultra Ported Subwoofer

I upgraded from a pretty capable sub (good to 18Hz with 600W RMS power) and the PB-16 Ultra BLOWS its doors off; there is nothing that comes close. I was running with one port closed (extended mode, so it's 13Hz capable - I detect absolutely no distortion at any listening level, recently switched to sealed mode for better transient response, 14Hz capable with faster roll-off than extended mode, I'm sticking with sealed ... plenty deep extension AND best transient response. Sure, it's expensive, but this seller has discounted it to a compelling price level, so I didn't have to watch the SVS outlet store like a hawk on a sale day and get lucky. It is 150#, so if you need it on the second floor, you better have an elevator or two people to move it. The black ash finish matches my Klipsch Reference-II and Reference-III series like they were made in the same shop and the resulting sound is theater quality.

After reading the reviews, I spent a day nailing down everything in my house that I thought would vibrate. I am glad I did. OMG! This is the forth sub that I currently own. Nothing else comes close to the room filling, low end, accurate, sub pressure that this thing is capable of. With my other subs, I was tired of running to the sub to change the volume settings. Some sources would have sub volume that is to low and some would be too high. My favorite feature is that with the included remote or the IOS/Android app, you can control the volume of the sub from where you sit. I absolutely love this thing!

This thing is a beast! It's big and it's heavy. It's also worth every dollar I paid for it. I bought this sub to replace 2 velodyne SPL 12 subwoofers. It outperforms them. It plays deeper,louder. To my surprise this sub is very, very Musical. I had a glass top made for it, and use it as an end table. If you want the best subwoofer that money can buy..... and have the room for it, Get This Sub! You wont be sorry.

The speaker is nowhere near as loud as it was supposed to be and it does not deliver the ground shaking bass I thought it would

happy with my purchase so far, the owner can be a bit snappy when u ask him direct questions lol but other than that Im happy with my purchase. He did respond promptly to my questions so thats a positive but with this seller the order could come later than anticipated so prepare yourself and dont get too attached to a date like I did.

Bought this from SVS website to replace pb12plus, the pb 12 plus would distort with certain musical tracks at high volume. This thing is made in China.The pb16 sub looks good and sounds phenomenal as long as it does not distort. Unfortunately mine did, I contacted SVS, they asked me to send a sound recording of the Sub playing after which they concluded that i have a lemon. I returned it back, won't order another one to confirm that it really was a defective sub, because this thing is so darn heavy and big, it is a hassle to move it, especially if there is a flight of stairs to climb. I got the white glove delivery and the delivery guy ended up damaging the dry wall trying to carry it. Instead I ordered a second pb12 plus and kind of happy with the sound, the pb12 plus is made in China too. I wish this was an American made product. One thing I can tell you though SVS customer service is just outstanding, one of the best I have experienced. They are also very helpful with returns.

Great ability to the lowest of lows in a medium/large room. The oak finish looks good and matches with my RF-7 IIs. Fully open ports not recommended for music as the punchiness was lacking. Sealed or extended mode worked the best. The phone app is really easy to use.

bought this subwoofer to replace x2 Mackie fusion 1800sa pa didn't think it would keep up in the slightest but i was so wrong this thing is a beast the sound quality is excellent very musical if anyone looking for a sub like this I'd say if you have the money go for it if not go for the monolith 15 or 16
