iFixit Portable Anti-Static Mat - ESD Pad, Wrist Strap, Grounding Cord for Electronics Repair

The whole kit works great. Metered both cables. They are perfect. Everything works great. Fit all of it into a WOLFBOX F100 box perfectly. Very happy.

If you are someone handy with tools and spend a lot of time diy-ing stuff, you know the value of good tools. Gets the job done without fuss, less damage to hardware and less risk of injury. This is one of those.

I was looking at many of the other anti static mats but I what scared me was that you have no idea what no-brand generic rolled up mat you would get. There seemed to be no quality assurance or brand name behind any of them, even though some were sold by a brand or company name, seemed in the reviews that people received a generic no labeled mat. I spotted this mat and it had a brand name on it so I figured at least I get assured of some quality. I was very happy when I received it and everything looked to be of good quality. The wrist strap measured 1 million ohms, the grounding mat strap measured 1 million ohms also. Wrist strap seems to be of high quality. The surface of the mat is of a soft plastic type of surface, kind of similar to what a blow up raft is made from. The surface also has a texture on it and it isn't smooth. It is easily folded up and stored away which is important because I only need to use it when working with circuit boards and chips. Unfortunately, I don't have the expensive test equipment to properly check the resistivity of the mat. You need special equipment and can't simply do this with a digital volt meter. This is where I put some trust in iFixit that they wouldn't sell me something that wasn't made properly.

I purchased a couple of these for two locations I frequent. Although the mat is a bit annoying that it doesn't lay very flat, it still gets the job done if you need something compact and portable. You can still keep screws from rolling all over, protect your device and the surface you are working on, see your parts, and most importantly not fry components with static if you happen to be in such an environment where one step and you've got a 2mm static arc. This brings up the major deficiencies in this kit. I had to purchase inexpensive plastic outlet banana jack adapters that certainly almost anyone would want to actually ground this kit, why they are not included is beyond me. Secondly of course is the fact that I'm using a one gallon freezer ziploc bag to contain the portable anti static mat and it's accessories? For an extra $5 this would be a complete and polished product. Although you would not be happy with the mat in a more permanent work shop setting, with a couple of extras you can build up a kit that stores compactly and is highly transportable. Recommended bit it could certainly be improved.

I'm building maybe my last BUILD (70yrs. old and very sick). So I wanted to build it the right way, starting from the ground up. So I'm starting by getting an Anti-Static Mat. My System is going to be the best of the BEST, price will not be an object. From a New Gaming Full Tower Case to Video Card, m.2 & ssd memory, 1200Watt PSU and all the NEW Bells & Whistles !!! So as You can see; I don't want any stupid short to blow out this NEW SYSTEM. I could of spend a lot more money on an Anti-Static Mat, but why waste Good Money on something that is already the BEST and all I need to get the Job done in a VERY SAFE WAY ? This Mat will do It's JOB and More. More Money for my MASTER BUILD. I've been Building Personal Home Computers for 30 years or more. So how come I'm not as rich as Gates ? ANYWAY BUY THIS MAT !!! It's all You'll NEED !!!

This is exactly the ESD mat that I was hoping to find. The mat has a nice weight and feel to it, and it's a great size for working at home on a normal kitchen or coffee table. I like that this mat has two snap-on locations instead of just one. I also really like the fact that the alligator clip accessory has 2 integrated banana-plug connectors. You can use these as an alternative to the alligator clip for grounding, and they're especially convenient if your power supply does not have a ground screw or clip. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

One of the best anti-static mats currently available. It's well made, large and comes at a very reasonable price. It pairs very well with the iFixit screwdriver sets.

Excellent produit, indispensable dès qu'on touche à l'électronique ou à des dmontages d'appareils. On prétend souvent qu'on peut le faire sans précaution et que cea marche. C'est vrai mais les statistiques d'usine ont prouvé que la durée de vie duprouit pouvait en être réduite jusqu'à 40% !
