Lasko CC13251 Electronic Ceramic Heater with Warm Air Motion Technology

This is a really well-made and effective heater. Especially useful is the timer function, which allows you to schedule anywhere from 1 to 7 hours of heat before it turns itself off automatically. It is not quite powerful enough to heat up a large room, such as a living room, quickly because it cannot produce and move enough heat to overcome all of the cold in the room without some effort. But in smaller rooms, say about 10 feet by 10 feet, it will raise the ambient temperature in the room about 5-6 degrees in less than an hour. It does not oscillate but has a lever on the side of the air flow vent where you can direct the air flow from straight out to straight up, or anywhere in between.

This unit is a prime example of why one should attempt to ONLY purchase UL-certified products. From past (and sometimes painful) personal experience in product development, I can state that for consumer products, there are few higher hurdles to overcome than to meet UL's rigid safety criteria. Lasko chose to not have this unit meet UL certification, and I suspect that their unit would NOT pass UL's tests. Some examples of failures of this product: (see photos) 1. The top of the external case has deformed due to melting while in normal use. 2. The unit shuts down regularly and randomly (without any observable cause) and will not turn back on until the unit is unplugged for several minutes and quite literally "rebooted." Remember, this is a space heater, not a PC, right? "Convenient" reboot instructions are detailed on the label on the back of the unit. In lieu of the tougher UL testing, Lasko has chosen to utilize another China-based agency, ETL, for safety testing. This unit appears to be an example of units that are acceptable to ETL's certification standards.

Great unit that puts out a decent amount of heat. Used it in a bathroom on the third floor of my townhouse. Unfortunately it stopped working in less than a year. Unit would no longer turn on and just beeped when pressing the power button.

This heater blows out the heat very well. It typically will stay on for a couple hours at a time and rarely reach a threshold of its own and just turn off like some older ones we've had. The thermostat will turn it off when the room reaches a certain temperature setting but it isn't real accurate. The electrical cord gets only slightly warm even after a few hours of operation. The 1 to 7 hour timer works well - the main feature we wanted for safety. The only two draw backs is that it is slightly louder than I hoped, but it is not irritating. Also when setting it up for a specific temperature, you cannot set it on low heat. It always reverts back to high with the goal of reaching that temperature setting as fast as possible. I have used this in my 18' x 18' office for about a month now.

I love this little heater. Just the right number of features, especially the timed shut off. This keeps me warm but doesn't have to run all night!

This heater is badass. I don't have to feel like a homeless bum inside my room at night anymore

After a half a year the heater's plastic melted when it topped over. It didn't work after that. That's a bit scary.

I have to believe manufacturer knows there defective and reduced price,Thermostat doesn't work and outlet becomes very hot after being on for less than 10 minutes
