Kingdom Living for the Family: Restoring God's Peace, Joy and Righteousness in the Home  by Frank and Ida Mae Hammond has been an informative book. It has caused me to go deeper with God and it opened my eyes as to what He expects in marriage. The Hammond's were very open and transparent as they shared how God helped them to bring their family into alignment with his expectations and his command.It is clear that many families are not in alignment with what God's word says because many of us have our own opinions and ways of doing things but the scripture does not lie. God placed husbands over wives and that happened in Genesis after man sinned. And as Christ is the shepherd so are husbands over their families. This flies in the face of the women's lib movements and societal norms.And yes there are men that would abuse this and misuse it but this book is a guide for both women and men to develop a Christ like response to each other and to have Christ's character. Christ was submitted to the Father and he did what God said. This is the wife's example. Christ is the one who purified and sanctified and saved the church (each member) and this is what the husband is to do. Why did he do it? Because of love. And that should be the motivation for the husband.Frank and Ida Hammond bring this out very clearly in their book. It is not popular but it is Biblical. And if you seek to be in your proper position for your divine blessing then you have to start by being obedient--and submit to the authority over you.God places husbands over wives and it is he that wives submit. It is he who instructed for wives to respect their husbands and for husbands to love and sanctify their wives. If we have any disagreement with this it is not with the Hammond's but with God and he is capable of defending himself for it is his word. And if we pick and choose which parts of his word we will accept, believe and follow then can we really say we are his? That we are walking in obedience and not rebellion? Will he embrace us as sheep or cast us aside as goat?Because the truth is that this book was based on God's word and not on the opinions of men. But each has to decide what they will do with the light they have been given and that will determine the illumination or lack there of as we continue on on our journey.I recommend this book though a lot is hard to swallow now I am determined to walk in obedience to God--based on his entire word!

My original purchase of this phenomenal resource for the family has catapulted me into the desire to see all of God's Kingdom citizen's return to the Divine Order God established for us back in the Garden of Eden for Family. I have purchased another copy as a gift, and intend to purchase several more for the same purpose. We must examine through careful considerations and complete honesty our failed attempts to restore Godly order to the family. Our nation is crumbling, because the Family is failing at missing the order for which God intended. The deficit in the Family is identity. No one really knows who they are, or should be. Amazingly, this book was originally published a generation ago, and as Truth it is as necessary and substantial today. This isn't just a good read, but rather it's a renewed way of living! There are practical applicable instructions, founded in Scripture; the Living Word of God, that if adhered too will produce instant fruit/positive results. It reminds us that our Father cares about every area of our lives, especially Family. I highly recommend not only reading it, but studying it. For such a time as this. If you're looking to be apart of God's Solution verses remaining a contributor to the problems we face for the Family, take this to heart, mind, and soul and practice what you read in this book. Great book to understand how to live the way God intended us too. Explains how right living brings unity and order in the home.

All I can say is, 'I wish I had this book 30 years ago and teaching like it before I got married.' My wife and I have been going through this book chapter by chapter and we are now going through it with our adult children who are not yet married. What a blessing it is to have such teaching before they get married. We have collectively beeen in the church for 80 years and in all that time, never did we hear this teaching. Every christian young and old, male and female, married and unmarried needs to be taught this and not by a single person,but by a married man with his wife beside him so together they can, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, be used of God to fulfill Luke 4:18-19. We must pray that this teaching will go to the whole Body of Christ and that many will be set free of all worldly ways and come into all that God has for them by living in the Kingdom according to Kingdom ways/principles.
