This is one of the very few toasters with front controls. Works very well, but the max toast size is small compared to other toasters, hence 4*

The lever button seems flimsy I hope it lasts

A very nice and neat basic toaster. I think the design is quite attractive and it fits perfectly with my black accessories in the kitchen. There are other colours to choose from, should you wish. The only grumble I have with this toaster is you need to watch the size of bread, as the first make I used was slightly too big so didn't toast on one edge. The slots are 13cm long, which is 5mm less than my last toaster, which I felt was too small. Why they can't make a decent length of slot is beyond me, although that would no doubt cost a bit more.The function of the toaster is very good, with 7 levels for toasting, depending on how crisp you like it. There are also the usual defrost, cancel and reheat buttons. In addition, there's a useful rack for warming up croissants etc, which is activated by a button. The toaster has a centering action which serves to aid even browning. There is a crumb tray which can be released by a lever for easy cleaning, which is always useful.Despite the shirt slots, I think overall the toaster is a good buy and would recommend (as long as you get short bread).

We needed a new toaster as our two slice toaster was not browning evenly and the settings are a lucky dip. I was therefore pleased to be offered this Tower toaster for free to review as part of the Amazon Vine programme.This Tower two slice toaster, which I received in the black version (although other colourways are available at time of review), is quite compact and is in face a little smaller than the toaster it replaces. It's design is functional and basic -- you're not buying to make a design statement in your kitchen.It is easy enough to use, just plug in and put in the slice of bread and select one of the browning control options (1-7, sliding lever).You can also choose the defrost function button should the bread be frozen. In addition, there are cancel and reheat function buttons, as well as a bun or muffin warmer on the top (up/down dial on the back of the toaster to operate).All the function controls are on one of the long sides of the toaster. I was slightly disappointed by this as I would have preferred them on the short side under the carriage lever as this means it takes up less space on the kitchen worktop (due to how you can position it).At the back of the unit, there is also a lever to remove the crumb tray when it needs to be emptied and cleaned.The carriage, bun warmer and crumb tray levers are not the most attractive and seem a little unsubstantial; I am not certain they would stand up to constant rough handling.This is a reasonable basic (no frills) two slice toaster. It is nothing fancy but it does toast bread and seems to do it fairly effectively. The price point of £29.99 (at the time of this Amazon Vine review) seems a little pricey as the overall look and build quality while reasonable is not stellar. I would price it at a maximum of £20-£25 in all fairness, as you can get similarly priced ones with either more functions and/or better aesthetics.
