I haven't tried this on knots. My dog's hair is more medium length like a shepherd, she's a mix. She has that double coat and doesn't shed the undercoat well and becomes really itchy. We had her in a cone prior to buying this brush. Now? No more cone and no more hot spots! Fingers crossed this brush will help next shed season too! It doesn't pull/tug the skin like other brushes. She cries if it tugs at her coat, she can be a little dramatic. My mom has the same brush and uses it with great results on her husky. I would highly recommend this brush!

Hi, This dog dematting comb does exactly what it says it does ! It would not be fair to write a negative review since they do warn you in the instructions that you could injure your dogs coat/skin if brushing to hard. Well, even though I though I was brushing or combing my dog softly, it wasn’t soft enough and caused abrasions on her skin with 🩸 bleeding. She yelped out and I felt awful! I was just so excited at the bag of fur/hair I was accumulating that I was brushing her for a long time( I thought great! Less hair on my floor)She lost half of her tail hair…yikes! . Anyway, my point is : use caution when using this comb and make sure your dogs hair is long enough 😊💗.

I have an Australian Shepherd that sheds like no other. After brushing him with this he waits free of mats and it also got rid a of a lot of my puppies undercoat. Amazing product
