So Far So Good
I bought this gym as a gift for the wife and for me and my son to train on the days we are not rock climbing. The product was delivered in a timely manner and it took 20 minutes to set up, happiness. Looks sturdy and operates well. I am really pleased with all the additional equipment that came with it. The attachments seem well thoughtout. I had a total gym prior and feel as though this is of equal or better quality. My only complaints, the joint where the gym folds seems to create a bump when in use. My concern is that this may cause wear on the rollers, and the bench seem a little shorter then the total gym making me feel like my head is not supported enough.I have only had it for a week, and my wife has yet to operate it due to an injury on her had and my child has not come back from camp. So as the week progress I will try to remember to update everyone.

2 years old and falling apart
2 years later:It was OK at first. I was not as enthused as others were in using this machine so it didn't take me long to lose interest. And now 2 years later with very little use the rubber tubes are breaking lose from the plastic connectors. These rubber tubes have a plastic head like piece inserted into the end of the tube which is clamped on with a plastic cuff. Eventually these cuffs cut through the rubber tube and separate it from it's connector and thus from the machine. I feel like giving this machine a one star or less but it did do it's job for a little while and some people may not be as bothered by the cons as I was. 'Total Trainer Pilates' - Model NO: TT2500PCons:1. The glide bar bumps over the hinge section although not enough to make it unusable but just enough to make it an irritation.2. I found it rather unsafe and tricky to get on and off when it was at an incline for some of the exercises.3. Some exercises require you (while seated) to move the seat up to grasp the handles and this becomes awkward and unsafe because there is no way to lock the seat into place as you try to get into position.4. During some exercises the handles would twist in my hands and cause my wrist to twist in an unnatural position and at times the mechanism would rub against my body.5. The leg cuffs cut into my ankles and I tried wearing heavy socks under the cuffs but the socks just shifted around along with the cuff and in no time at all proved ineffective at relieving the rubbing from the cuffs.6. The seat felt too short for me (I'm 5' 7") and either my head or my feet would get in the way of the top or bottom of the machine on some exercises.7. Some of the suggested exercises are much more effective if done without the machine. They are probably added to make it appear that you need this machine to make some of these exercises more effective. Actually, it makes some of them more complicated to do than without the machine. Part of the hype.8. I found it much more of a hassle to change equipment on the machine for different exercises than how they make it appear. Eventually, I just stuck with the exercises where I did not need to change the equipment.9. The biggest con of all is that the quality is not up to the cost of the machine. The rubber tubes are breaking lose from their plastic connectors after little use. And it is not an easy fix. I will have to engineer something to get them back together and even then I don't expect it to hold for any longer than they currently have.Pros:1. It did work for a little while2. It folds up leaving for more space in the room3. Nice clothes hangerThe truth is one can spend the same 15 to 30 minutes a day doing any exercise beyond what you already do and you will see the benefits. This machine just made my exercising more complicated instead of fun and I am going to go back to the exercising I did before this machine. It actually caused me to put off exercising and now I am in worse shape than before. Dancing, tennis, walking, hiking, bike riding, swimming - that's fun exercising and does a body good. But then, maybe this machine would be the 'icing on the cake' for you.

It's worth it...
This is a good, solid machine with a lot of versatility. It was shipped out quickly, but be warned that it weighs nearly 100 lbs when packaged - so plan on having someone around to help you get it inside (I wasn't that smart). Set-up is pretty simple, as is folding it away. There are several attachments that allow you to get a reasonably full-spectrum workout. The nice thing is that it feels solid under me. I'm far from petite, but I don't feel like it's shaky or unstable under me. Moreover, using this machine I've been able to loosen up back muscles that haven't eased in a long timeCustomer service for this equipment is quite responsive; the instructional DVD enclosed with mine turned out to be blank, and once I contacted the vendor they sent out a new one immediately. My biggest complaint is that both the video and the instruction manual need to be updated. The video is basically just dubbed in from the videos that they made in the 80s/90s. The machine hasn't changed a great deal (cosmetic mostly) since then, but the videos are more entertaining than informative, in a lot of ways. As for the instruction manual, it was more helpful, but there are minor items that need to be updated. For example, the cross-brace knob that must be disengaged before collapsing it, is slightly different (from both the manual and the video). Like, I said, a minor item, but useful information.Overall, I would say this is very worth the money. The videos may be a bit dated, but the equipment is quite effective.

Game Changer
This machine changed my whole perspective on making time to work out and reminded me of how much I enjoy it. In my teens and early twenties, I was very active with training for fitness competitions, I was in a boxing club, and I enjoyed weightlifting. Life happended: I started a family (husband and five children), have a demanding career, and working out seemed like an impossibility so I kept setting unrealistic milestones for when I was going to start working out again. One day I realized that the pace of my life was not going to change tomorrow or four years from now. At that moment I decided that I was going to make working out a priority. This machine was a Godsend. I get up extra early (4:30ish) to use this machine for both aerobic and anaerobic workouts. It makes circuit training easy and is fun to do. I had some challenges with rowing, but at the lowest resistance level and with my body positioned close to the edge of the glide board, I was able to do it and get a feel for the motion (now I can do it at higher resistance levels). It is not a true row, but it does the job.I highly recommend this machine. A couple of months in and my weight and waist are noticeably down. This is despite the fact that I only workout a few times a week and can only do it for 20 to 30 minutes. Thank you to Bayou Fitness for such a great product.
