DO NOT BUY THIS TERRIBLE LAPTOP, IT SHOULD NEVER COST MORE THAN £250.
DO NOT BUY THIS TERRIBLE LAPTOP, IT SHOULD NEVER COST MORE THAN £250.Cons:- my unit arrived with a faulty spacebar function key, in order to turn off the backlight on the keyboard you have to press the Fn key + spacebar key. That didn't work on my laptop. The keyboard light was ON all the time. Even if you close the laptop lid it was always on. See pictures.- fan noise is unacceptable, fans would kick in even in idle, with nothing open on the laptop, and they were very loud, and they didn't sound like a regular fan in laptops, this laptop had this really annoying grinding noise coming out of the fan vents, terrible if you want to focus on some work of watching film and you have this grindy noise in the background all the time,- faulty headphone jack, I've tried two different pairs of headphones with built-in microphone and none of them worked, the computer simply wouldn't recognise the headset's microphone, tried changing settings etc. but all that was available was the laptop's microphone and I couldn't use the headset's one.- terrible and SLOW SSD, I was trying to copy around 100 gb worth of data from my external SSD and it took nearly 3 hours to complete, I thought there must be something wrong with the SSD, ran a test (see pictures attached) and to my great disappointment the results were absolutely terrible, most regular SSDs from 2010 (not even NVMe ones) have better performance than this machine.- and last things, the camera light, oh my God. When you turn on the camera a little LED will turn on to indicate that the camera is on, quite a common feature in many laptops. But this one is like a very powerful torch or a flashlight for taking photos, it will blind you during skype calls, it's way to strong. Who thought this will be a good idea to blind their users during video calls? Again, refer to pictures.Pros:- decent design,- decent screen,- comfortable keyboard to type on.DO NOT BUY THIS TERRIBLE LAPTOP, IT SHOULD NEVER COST MORE THAN £250.I HAVE RETURNED MINE AFTER FEW DAYS AND I BOUGHT ANOTHER DEVICE FOR £50 MORE AND IT'S 10 x BETTER THAN THIS TERRIBLE EXCUSE OF A LAPTOPDO NOT BUY IT

OK for general computing
Great for general usage EG: word processing, spread sheets and simple games, more graphic intensive games may be a problem due to the graphic card is using the main memory.

Unfortunately the software on the laptop is not genuine and couldn’t switch on on one morning.
Like the laptop and fastness but something went wrong

A fantastic laptop, perfectly suited to gaming on a budget
We've had several Medion products in the past. They represent great value for money and the manufacturer offers a good warranty and customer service. I therefore jumped at the chance to review this laptop from Medion, particularly considering their PC and laptop heritage. This Medion Akoya E15303 was listed at £519.99 at the time of review and I can wholeheartedly say that this is worth every penny. The equivalent laptop from other manufacturers can easily cost another £200+ more for something with the same spec. The AMD Ryzen 5 4500U is at the heart of this laptop. This is a latest-gen integrated graphics processor. You only need to do a search on the internet to see how good this processor is: "In the Core i5 bracket it's an easy victory for Ryzen, but the 4500U is also able to outperform Intel's fully unlocked Core i7-1065G7 most of the time. This makes the 4500U suitable for light gaming, whether that's casual games at modest settings, or even some higher performance titles at the lowest settings".Gaming is where this laptop really comes into its own. Despite not being designed as a dedicated gaming laptop, the combination of the Ryzen 5 processor, which has 6 graphics processing cores, and a total of 8gb of dual channel ram (2 X 4gb) makes this a great laptop for gaming on a budget. This laptop also comes with a 512gb SSD, which will be more than enough for most users. However, there's also an m.2 memory expansion slot underneath, should you wish to expand the memory. The keyboard can be illuminated at night, with a couple of brightness levels.Windows 10 runs smoothly on this laptop. There's no lag whatsoever. All of the games that we've tried so far are also running perfectly. We have Xbox Live Ultimate, which includes Xbox Games for PC. Several games have been downloaded and work without any noticeable issues. There are various adjustments that can also be made in the accompanying graphics processor program, which allows improvements to frame rate, etc.The last thing to make note of is the large 15.6" crystal clear HD display. This is a truly impressive screen, which really finishes the laptop off perfectly. The image is nice and clear, with strong colour displayed. Sound isn't overly loud, but at least it's clear. It's definitely worth using with a good pair of Bluetooth or USB headphones if you appreciate more immersive soundMy son is currently saving up for a full-blown gaming laptop with ray tracing. For now, however, he's really happy with this laptop, which will allow him to game with his friends online. We're both really impressed with this and can both recommend it.

Freezed on installation
Installation from new took three attempts when the laptop froze and had to be booted up again. After installation, it freezes even with minimal browsing, forget doing anything more demanding. Can be used as paper weight though. Returning for refund.
