The very name of the brand conveys a deep respect toward craftsmanship and considered as familiar by citizens the world-over. So as a “citizen” of the world, we bear the responsibility to help cultivate a culture of positive change and on-going evolution through our craft. We take that mission seriously and steadfastly welcome what the future may bring. As a true manufacture d’horlogerie, CITIZEN integrates a comprehensive manufacturing process from creating individual components to a watch’s final assembly. It’s an artisan’s approach to watch making based on pushing forward the boundaries of technology and leveraging our experience toward exploring new possibilities. One pivotal technological breakthrough was the development of a light-driven watch. CITIZEN pioneered this engineering innovation well ahead of other watch manufacturers as early as 1976, which led to the launch of the highly acclaimed Eco-Drive in 1995. Utilizing electrical power converted from virtually any light source, this extraordinary innovation changed forever the way watches could be powered. Eco-Drive eliminated the need to ever replace batteries, which made it especially beneficial to areas where such specialist batteries were not obtainable. This leveled the field for citizens of virtually every country to be able to experience unrestricted joy of wearing and using a CITIZEN watch. The product development policy, “The Fusion of Technology and Beauty,” remains a constant motivation for us to merge cutting-edge technology with perfection of design beauty, which as a consequence inspires people to strive to be their best at any time. CITIZEN launches a new campaign in collaboration with Wieden+Kennedy, Better Starts Now. This is the simple belief that no matter who you are or what you do, it is always possible to make something better — and now is the time to start doing it. We believe that better and now are both infinite, and that there is always a next ‘better’ and a new ‘now’ in which you can start pursuing it. It was clear from the onset of this project that we are dedicated to this ideal…not to the past but to the present, and all the way we can improve it. To help communicate this belief to the world we have created a new global CITIZEN brand movie, brand identity and brand website that represents out Better Starts Now philosophy. P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); The Satellite Wave-Air with Eco-Drive technology features light-weight titanium and groundbreaking construction and design with a three-layered dial that is inspired by jet engines. Information gathered from satellite signals offers accurate time anywhere on earth. Dark features of light grey titanium paired with electric green accents offer a cool look. See more

A Perfectly Beautiful Watch! It is Perfectly Accurate Too!
I was looking around for a radio controlled watch. There are many. Because I have found Citizen watches to be my favorite and the most accurate brand, I quickly narrowed the field to Citizen radio controlled watches. After owning a couple of titanium watches, I would never buy a stainless steel watch again. Titanium is so much lighter, and that makes it worth the increased cost. Some of the Citizen watches had so many functions that the face was very busy. I narrowed it down to two Citizen Watches: CC1055-53E and AT4010-50E.There is a wide difference in price with the CC1055-53E being the more expensive watch. This watch has no alarm or chronograph, and I did not need either feature. I did like that it would receive satellite signals any place on earth vs. the other watch receiving atomic clock updates in 5 time zones. I preferred the appearance. It is a great watch to look at, and the face is not overly busy and certainly not cluttered. I thought that the watch would be difficult to set up. Another reviewer provided guidance in the setup process that he used. That process will certainly work, and if you do an "all reset" (p67 in the instruction manual), you will have to do just that. I did not do any of that, nor did I use the mini SD card as I had no place to use it. I did use the setup video on the Citizen website. It is very good, and you can pause it and/or back it up for review. I highly recommend this method of setup. See this link: [...]I merely checked the time zone that the watch was showing, and I moved it to my time zone. I set it to daylight savings time. I performed a manual reception 1(p35 in the instruction manual). The time, day, and date were perfect. Just to be sure, I used the instruction to check the leap year and a few other things using the manual as a guide. They were already perfect. The watch came fully charged. The instruction manual that is provided in the box (also on the Citizen website) is very good and easy to follow. I took the watch to a local jewelry store where I had the band adjusted. I do not recommend doing this by yourself, because there are tiny pins and very tiny retaining barrels which could be easily lost. There is a black titanium model of this watch which has orange accents vs. the green accents on this watch. The band is black rubber with titanium inserts with a buckle. Strangely, this model (CC1076-02E) is $150 more expensive. It is also a great watch to look at. You will be amazed at the packaging. The watch is in a huge case which is inside of an even bigger Citizen box. I hope that you enjoy the watch. I do.

Just wow!
Lets just first say, Danggg! With 3 G's. This watch is so sick. As a citizen collector, having the Proximity, to the Skyhawk, and even the Navihawk. This watch is absolutely amazing to look at and best of all its titanium. This is my first titanium watch and when I picked it up i thought it was fake. I can't get over how light it is. Feels good on the wrist and sits nice. It's bulky but even for not having a big wrist it actually looks really good on me. Anything expensive does but this watch kills it to me. And I have to add Eco-drive and radio/satellite combined....together.... Geeze what more do you want seriously. I wanted the Swiss watches but why? Solar powered in my wrist... Just give it a usb output and you will make a billion dollars. Dont claim it without me citizen you heard it here first. I want my share. Thank you citizen for making great watches

Meh...
Citizen is VERY proud of this watch. VERY. PROUD. Like my other two eco-drive watches, this one has great build quality, and is a nice watch. It's a nice watch, not an amazing watch, not a fantastic watch, and absolutely not worth anywhere near it's almost $2000 price tag. The titanium is nicely finished, the two tone look is nice, the time sync takes about 15 seconds (which is nice compared to my Citizen atomic watches that take about 2 minutes to sync), and the face is nice too. This is a rare case of the face not looking better in person, than in pictures. In Citizen's promo videos the face looks pretty fantastic, but on my arm, is just nice. My other two Citizens look better in person than in pictures, so this was a surprise for me. What is really fantastic is the lume. It's a more neon green than my other two, and it's bright. I went outside on a sunny day to do a satellite sync and when I walked back in to the house, I swear it looked like the hands and markers had little lights on them. It lasted for about 30 seconds, and then was still easy to see in any kind of dimmer light. This was the only thing that really impressed me about the watch.I want to make a special note on packaging, because it has to do with the first sentence in this review . My other watches arrived in a little cubed shaped box roughly 4.5 x 4.5 x 5 inches, with another cylinder shaped box inside, both made of paper/cardboard. "PLEASE RECYCLE", and "PROUDLY MADE WITH RECYCLABLE PAPER" are printed on both boxes. The Satellite Wave came in a cardboard box roughly 9 x 11 x 4 inches, with lining on the top and bottom, and inside was a plastic/metal/rubber display case that has lead or steel or some other heavy metal to give it about 3lbs. of weight. All of it is completely unnecessary, and a total waste of time, energy, and money, and not environmentally friendly either. It's as if Citizen is trying to somehow justify the high price tag with a nice box.My rating on this watch really boils down to this: I have a watch on my wrist right now that has: built in GPS, a color touch screen, receives notifications from my phone, customizable faces, tracking, mapping and syncing of various physical activities to an app on my phone, reminders for me to move if I'm sitting too long at my desk, controls for music on my phone, multiple apps, and a back light. It's (a Garmin Vivoactive) $250. So, synchronizing the time with a GPS satellite is nice and all, but not really a big deal, in the grand scheme of things, and certainly not worth a $1000+ premium. The fashion argument could definitely be made, but I'm really not feeling that either. I honestly thought the watch face was going to be spectacular, and it just isn't. I wouldn't pay any more than $700 for this watch, and even that is pushing it a little.

A gorgeous, sophisticated timepiece!
Love this watch! I've been wearing a Citizen Eco Drive Calibre 2100 for 10 years and really enjoyed it, so figured I'd upgrade with another Citizen. Glad I did! This watch is absolutely stunning, and surprisingly lightweight for its size. Very cool to watch the thing go through its paces when connecting to the satellite. A very quick process, by the way. The watch was fairly easy to set up right out of the box. And the packaging - WOW! If you need the band sized you'll want to take it to a better jeweler. Jewelry stores in my neighborhood mall didn't have the right tools for the job. This is a big, bold, bad-@$$ hunk of timekeeping goodness!

Thiswatch is so stylish and functional I love it
This watch is so stylish and functional I love it. It arrived fully charged and ready to go. It was even preset to my time zone. I adjusted the DST and the video instructions from citizen make setting and operating various functions so easy. I highly recommend the watch and the supplier.
