HP update problem-excellent customer service solution
The cartridges came in and the first one worked perfectly. A couple weeks later, 2 of the other prompted an error message on the printer which turned out to be an update that blocked the non-HP cartridges. After contacting smart-ink.. & trying a couple solutions, they immediately sent me a new set of cartridges to remedy the problem. Things do happen, but their willingness to make it right is why I’ll continue ordering from them!

Excellent Customer Support
This is the second time I've used these cartridges for my HP printer. I was a little worried about using them the first time, but they work just fine. I had an issue with the black ink in my second shipment, contacted customer support on their website and they walked me through the process of cleaning my printer heads. Once I did that and we saw it did not work, they sent a replacement. Don't hesitate to try these out instead of the HP cartridges, for the price they're very worth it!

Left Me Scrambling
This worked so well with my HP printer… at first. After a few months the honeymoon was over. Unfortunately, I had purchased a whole other ink kit for backup before I realized there was a problem. Now I have no way to return either. My HP printer says there is no ink left in the black X cartridge, but when you tilt the cartridge back-and-forth you can tell it is full. Since it was after 5 pm, and I was in a pinch for a large early morning print order, there was nothing I could do but open the brand new cartridge out of the other pack. This cartridge had a compatibility issue with HP, and HP blocked its use. Took me several hours to figure out a workaround. A third of the product I printed with this new cartridge turned out well, while 2/3 were poor printings. My customers were disappointed, but it was all I had to offer them since I have to mail order real HP cartridges. The ink cartridges say they are out when they are not, there are compatibility issues with HP printers that require you to research a workaround, and, after a while, the ink cartridges cause printing problems that are unacceptable, especially if you are running a business. I called the company to inquire about the situation and gain some insight into the empty cartridge message, and the representative did not have a firm grasp of the English language. She could not understand me (I am a native English speaker.) I asked for a supervisor. She said she would only have him call me and would not put him on the phone or simply relay my question to him and have him relay an answer. Absurdly, when I asked when he would contact me, she put me on hold, asked him, and relayed his answer of 5 hours. WHAT?!! I’m done. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.

Chat Support Was Awesome
I had an HP firmware issue where my printer wouldn't recognize my new Smart Ink cartridges. Fortunately, I was able to get the issue resolved with a quick chat with Alice in Smart Ink's chat support. Thank you Alice and Thank you Smart Ink.

Great support team
Ink leaked into my printer and unfortunately my printer still isn't working. However, my experience with the support team to replace the cartridges was extremely seamless and easy. I wish all customer service interactions were this easy.

Excellent Customer Service
I ordered the ink and my black cartridge worked for a few days then stopped. When I called customer service to find out what to do, they immediately shipped me a replacement that so far is working great. The cartridges are MUCH less expensive than the original HP and the quality is just as good. I plan to order from them again.

Thank goodness this ink worked in my printer
My printer stopped accepting non HP ink and I didn’t realize it was the firmware they force on us through automatic updates. I wasn’t sure this ink would work but in the description it did say it will work and if it didn’t to call and they would send ink with ann updated chip in the next order. Well the first order worked and they also advise how to turn off the auto updates. HP wanted $600 for the same ink I bought for $140. I can buy a new printer for the price of ink. When will the companies realize that blatant price gouging isn’t going to work! Thank you Smart Ink!

Tech support initially was outstanding. I TAKE IT BACK Update
They finally got back to me, after a lot of back and forth. As mentioned below, I was initially told to contact HP. Then I was contacted by Alexa and she sent me some information, that was somewhat helpful, but I still had to do a lot of digging on my own. Hopefully they will either get the issue with "genuine" HP cartridges resolved, or stop selling them as "fully compatible" or at least publish a warning that HPs software may render the printer unusable with non HP certified cartridges depending on the version of printer firmware. Bottom line, be very cautious using non HP cartridges.I am trying to reach them again, as the "fix" created another problem with an error message on the printer. It prints, but I have to cnnstantly reset it. Now when I try to call, I get a recorded message that says "We are in Ukraine and the situation is unstable" I got a text message right away asking me to start a chat session. I did and after composing a length y message, I got an error message when I hit send. At this point I am at a loss. I will probably have to toss these $120 cartridges and by the HP rip off for $370.I had a major frustration with my HP orinter rejecting the non-HP ink cartridges, meaning those you don't pay $400 for from HP. I went on the Smart Ink chat line, entered the data asked for and in very short order was greeted by Robert who patiently and expertly guided me through the process to get around the problem. Many thanks to Robert for a job well done! BTW, all this took place on a Saturday night after 8 pm, long past when most so called tech support lines are closed.

Very thorough and helpful support!
The first set of cartridges we purchased did not print color. the bottom half of the picture was all wrong and colors were incorrect. Valerie was very good in helping to troubleshoot the issue but we were not able to resolve it. Valerie immediately sent out a replacement set of cartridges and provided the date they would arrive. I do not need to send back the cartridge set that is not working. I am to follow up with them that the second set works. Very satisfied with this support.

HP now wants to block non-hp suppliers of ink.

Damaged my HP PageWide Pro MFP 477dw
Like another reviewer, this ink destroyed my printer (lowest score you can pick it 1 star - should be zero)!Customer service went through all the steps to correct the issue through all the printer's maintenance options (which I had already done before contacting them) but the issue remained, they then sent me a replacement set free with overnight shipping and that didn't correct the issue.I purchased the official HP cleaning kit and ink; it DID NOT correct the issue.They then provided a full refund for the ink - which is a fraction of the price of the printer and/or the service plus shipping to possibly have it fixed by HP.Basically blank doesn't print properly - totally missing in spots and colour also has strange results; see attached pictures. To be clear, the cartridge is not the issue, it is the composition of the ink that causes issue internally to the printer.Their customer service was great and easy to deal with but at the end of the day, my printer is not usable and I'm out over $600 after you factor in their refund.Avoid at all costs!

Smart ink to the rescue
Defeated HP firmware with and update in a few minutes. I can now use generic cartridges on my hp printer..plus, had a printer issue, smart ink stepped up and addressed the issue immediately taking on the responsibility and sent new pack of cartridges. Arrived at my door in 36 hours. Incredible!!Thanks so much Smart InkAwesome service !!

It worked!
Happy to know I can buy non HP products and they will work in my HP products at half the cost and there are solutions that prevent HP from holding you hostage to purchase their supplies.
