Pinkalicious ABC: An Alphabet Book

My daughter just turned 2 last week and this was the first alphabet book I decided to try with her. She's not overly interested in Pinkalicious the TV show, so I was taking a gamble. I was actually blown away by this book and how my daughter responded to it. It's fantastic, in my opinion. The layout is simple, making it easy to follow along and the colors are very cheerful and inviting. (And I say that as a person who is NOT into pink and I typically actively avoid pink for my daughter.) Yes, what the letters stand for are a little unconventional, but I actually love that about it. She gets to learn new words she might not learn otherwise. It also lends to the overall whimsical feel of the book. My daughter has asked me to read it multiple times a day and after only a week she could name every single letter and corresponding picture, including Emeralds, Yarn, Xylophone, which are hard words for a just-turned-2 year old! My favorite part of this book (and my kiddo's) is the last page where Pinkalicious says, "Yay! You did it! You know your ABC's!" My daughter's whole face lights up when Pinkalicious says this to her, like she's actually cheering her on. Then the entire alphabet is printed all together at the end, which I take as an opportunity to sing the alphabet song while I point to each letter as I sing. Consequently my 2yo can sing the song now, too. Highly recommend!!

Such a cute book!

Super cute book! We gave it for a gift for a second birthday. Great quality & educational! We love Pinkalicious!

I like it because my kids like it and have learned new words from it - Just wish it had some other choice of items as others have listed... E is for emeralds - my kids skip that since an emerald is such a random thing that they won't be using in their vocab yet. Or G is for Gingerbread - why not choose a hard sound word like gumdrop. Also V is for vegetable but the picture isn't of just vegetables.

My daughter loves to watch the television show, and we've been working on her ABCs, so I thought this would be perfect--and it is! She loves it. Great illustrations and quality of book. Awesome take on the ABCs.

My 3 year old could care less about learning the alphabet until we introduced this book! She loves it!

My daughter is obsessed with the Pinkalicious doll so we bought this book hoping she'd love it. And she definitely does! But she's 16 months old and loves books period so that may have something to do with it. The colors are bright, the wording is simple, and great for young children. The pages are easy for little hands to turn, and its a sturdy board book!

My daughter recently became a big pinkalicious fan (since it is now a show on pbs kids), so I was so glad to find that they had this board book for her (she's almost 2). I gave it to her for Valentine's day and she loves it. Our book is kinda warped for some reason (didn't come that way), but maybe she bent it somehow while playing? Not that big of a deal though. :)
