Great little upgrade
I recently purchased the Daedalus CNC Brushless Spindle Motor Kit, 500w, and I have been absolutely thrilled with its performance. This kit has taken my CNC projects to a whole new level, and I couldn't be happier with the results.First and foremost, the brushless spindle motor in this kit is a powerhouse. With a rating of 500 watts, it delivers ample power for a wide range of machining tasks. Whether I'm cutting, engraving, or milling, this motor effortlessly handles the workload, providing consistent and reliable performance. One of the standout features of this kit is its precision. The spindle motor operates with remarkable accuracy, allowing me to achieve intricate details and tight tolerances in my projects. This level of precision is crucial for producing high-quality work, and the Daedalus spindle motor excels in this regard.I also appreciate the quiet operation of this motor. Despite its impressive power, it runs surprisingly quietly, which is a significant improvement over some other motors I've used in the past. This reduced noise level creates a more pleasant working environment and allows me to concentrate on my projects without distraction. The kit's build quality is top-notch. Both the motor and the accompanying components feel solid and well-constructed. It's clear that Daedalus has put a lot of attention into the design and manufacturing of this kit, ensuring its durability and longevity. I've put it through some demanding tasks, and it has held up beautifully.Installation was relatively straightforward, and the included instructions were clear and helpful. Even if you're not an experienced CNC enthusiast, you should be able to set up this kit with ease.In terms of value, I consider this kit to be an excellent investment. It provides a significant boost in performance and precision for a reasonable price, making it a cost-effective choice for anyone looking to upgrade their CNC machine. In summary, the Daedalus CNC Brushless Spindle Motor Kit, 500w, has exceeded my expectations in every way. Its power, precision, quiet operation, build quality, and overall value make it a standout product in the world of CNC machining. Whether you're a professional or a hobbyist, if you're looking to enhance your CNC capabilities, I highly recommend considering this kit. It has earned its five-star rating, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

surprised by the quality
looks good, works great, minimal runout, and surprisingly quiet. everything came packaged neatly, and worked right out of the box. the only thing i didn't like was there was no real documentation with any of it, aside from a single paper showing the same basic wiring diagram they show above. no driver documentation, or details on how to run the driver with PWM for example. otherwise this is worth every penny i spent on it

Spindle is slow - 0 - 9000 is slow but it can't even do 9000
Peaks out at 8.8 volts at 8800 RPM.It doesn't runs any faster at 10 volts. 0 - 10 volt PWM more like 2.0 - 8.8 volt PWM control.Won't run below 2.00 volt at 300 RPM.It is quiet, that is the only good thing I can say.The speed is off by 5 - 8 % before it warms up, takes about 30 minutes to get close to accurate speeds. After it warms up it runs a faster at each level but never more the 8800 RPM top end.Very Disappointed at this cost.

Solid spindle, ER11 is part of the shaft
Its a nice spindle for the money! A key feature: the ER11 is cut directly into the spindle, not a separate part! The bearings are just deep groove ball bearings: 6002ZZ on the ER end and 6900ZZ on the fan end. A fiber washer is used to shim the top and a wave washer is used to preload the bottom bearing outer race upward. The runout isn't bad, but its irritating if you are using skinny engraving cutters. I measured 0.0005" Total Indicator Reading (TIR) on the spindle OD near the bearing and 0.0007" TIR on a 1/8" diameter tool shank clamped in the collet. The 600 Watt motor read 0.0004" TIR on the spindle OD and 0.008" TIR on the same tool. With the 600 Watt motor clamped in a V-block I was able to move the spindle up and down for a total radial motion of 0.008", measured on the tool. In use, a 0.2mm tip 15 degree V bit at 0.8mm depth produced an effective cut width at the surface of 0.55mm. This should be more like 0.41mm. My results with a 30 degree 0.1mm tip bit were worse:I have both the 500 and 600 Watt motors; the only visible difference is the 600 Watt one is longer. The internal photos are of the 600 Watt motor; the other one is installed on my CNC router. The 600 Watt motor is trifilar wound with all the coils going to a single center tap which is not brought out of the motor. I soldered onto the center tap and measured each coil group: at 2.4 Volts and 9.7 Amps or 0.24 Ohm. Measuring from wire to wire (with less current) I got 0.37 Ohm. All the measurements were very close to each other. My biggest gripe: the air cooling holes on the top are MUCH larger than the bottom. I drilled out my 600 Watt motor's end cap to 1/4" on all 6 holes to improve the air flow. You can remove just this end by pulling three super-long screws; it comes right off. Be SUPER careful about keeping magnetic junk away from the rotor if you pull it out! Clean it with blue tape if you do pull it out!For some reason I get 12,000 RPM on the display (and it sounds fast) with the 500 Watt motor but only 8,000 on the 600 Watt motor (same driver). This is a step up from the brushed DC ER11 spindles (with the pressed on adapter), but its NOTwhat you are looking for if you need zero runout. This has runout and slop, but its good enough on my belt driven CNC!

Good motor and controller, suspect accesories
Motors is quiet and runout seems great. However, it shipped with a faulty potentiometer. This led to all kinds of headaches getting it running, as it worked intermittently and liked to change RPM on its own.I spent more opportunity cost in my time diagnosing this issue than I paid for the motor kit, which is frustrating. Overall however the kit is a good value. I suspect the cheap/shoddy potentiometer could be responsible for others' issues, so if you have a 10k potentiometer sitting around I'd plan to replace this one immediately.

Excellent art of parts
I have been running this motor for a few weeks now, it is quiet and vibration free. The speed readout works well. I bought it to upgrade from 1/8 to 1/4in collets so I could surface my waste board. Does a great job. The supplied set of collets allows you to use a wide range of drill sizes as well as cutters should you need to. No regrets over the upgrade from a brushed motor.

Bastante torque para lo pequeños que es
The media could not be loaded.

Very NICE Spindle Motor
I can't say enough good things about this product. I had a 500W DC spindle but it vibrated so badly it nearly tore my machine apart. This spindle is deathly smooth running and really quiet! I would recommend this kit to anyone.
