FANTASTIC RISER FOR A VERY REASONABLE PRICE!!!!
These UTG low profile compact 1/2" riser mounts are absolutely easy to install, extremely well made, and stay put once they are tightened down regardless of the impact of 100's of rounds fired!!! You don't need to spend a lot of money on a fancy or trendy name riser.....these risers are extremely affordable, look great on your firearm, and work perfectly!!! The fit and finish for such a reasonably priced unit was pleasantly surprising. I have a set mounted on my AR-556, as well as on my S&M M&P15....both chambered for 5.56. I have put hundreds of rounds down the barrels of both AR platforms.....and the risers never loosened a bit!!! Because these guys hold so well, you can count on your scope to hold its zero as long as your scope is mounted properly!!! Don't over-think this purchase.........make the move and you'll be happy you did!!!

Good bang for your buck, not finger secureable, need tools to lock in place, no QD here.
Mounts sturdy, it gives off the impression that it can be hand tightened and loosened for a quick-detach cheap riser to use with your red dot to make it 1/3 co-witness or place it above and beyond the front iron. If you really tighten it good with your fingers it will not be enough, I believe it's not a matter of strength its just beyond human capability to tighten these the the ft.lb required to seat them properly to the picatinny rails. You can use an allen wrench for leverage in the holes, a small wrench should be enough try to seat it in the middle of the wrench so you don't bend it. Better yet just use a pair of pliers or channel locks and wrap a piece of cloth around the tighten/loosen bolt so you don't scuff it all up.Overall I like UTG for my real rifle, depending on the products. I have a great BUIS I use from them that has been fantastic. Forget paying inordinate amounts of money for something that does the same simple thing as the cheap product. These are not complex moving parts here, just some aluminum and a tightener made to industry standard tolerances. You can't really go wrong here unless you're looking for a true quick-detach. Otherwise look elsewhere and pay the 30+ bucks. It's worth it sometimes.

Another great product from UTG
I don't think I've ever had a defective product from UTG. They make great stuff at great prices and still manage to have excellent quality control.I keep in my inventory 3 of each height riser that they make (low medium high). It's always good to have a few of these on hand for new builds or new additions to your collection. These are nice because you can tighten them down with an Allen key. I've never had one come loose that I cranked down tightly. You could probably add a drop of blue loctite in it if you're concerned.

Bought 4. Two fit rails, two did not.
I wanted to use these to boost some micro red dots that are mounted as secondary sights in a 1 o'clock position.Mounted on the Daniel Defense rails, they are simply too low for me to see the dot. I figured a riser would do the job. I popped off the red dots, installed the riser, then reinstalled the dot sight. Put the dot right in the middle of the sight when I looked at it with a good cheekweld on the stock. The bad thing was I have 4 uppers set up with a secondary sight and only 2 of the risers out of 4 would fit the Daniel Defense mount. They simply won't open wide enough to allow access of the rail into the base.

Rising to the job
This riser worked better on my Core upper/USM4 lower AR15 than the taller QD version. Each gun can have a different gap, and the gas block height is as important as the receiver-to-barrel top rail's height. On my gun, this fit better, and though not a QD (quick detach), unscrewing the wing nut and removal only took about 7 seconds max. It is shorter, fewer peaks and valleys on the picatinny, so you might want to also be sure how many slots (valleys) your sight or other accessory needs. Worked on the side rails of my hand grip as a "riser" for a light and/or a laser if wanted. Very light weight. Re-install took about 10 seconds. Solid on the rail. I don't like a lot of things sticking out to the side, but the wing nut is pretty standard, and except in closest contact, didn't hook on anything. I can recommend it.

Combine 2 different risers for Hi-point 995 iron sights with TRS-25 red dot
For a Hi-point 995TS carbine with a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot sight, combine a UTG Medium Riser (RS08S3) and UTG Low Riser (RS05S3).Mount the Low riser on the rail, mount the Medium one on top of it (reversed so the thumb screws don't interfere) mount the TRS-25 on top. The stock iron sights line up dead center in the see-through portion of the top riser.Raise your head slightly and use both eyes. The red dot does its own thing just above. For the record, I started out intending to cowitness the stock iron sights in the lower third of the TRS-25 optic. None of the three UTG riser heights will do this. I think the see-through setup is equally good if not better.

hopefully this will save someone else from a mistake
Received this product in the mail today, seems well made I just wish it would have solved the issue I'm having. I purchased the riser because I have an ATI omni .223/5.56 AR 15 and like quite a few people I bought a set of magpul b.u.s. well the picatinny gas block is just low enough in relation to the top rail that I ran out of front sight post adjustment before I could get the rifle zeroed. With the front sight post backed out almost to the point of falling out I'm still about 6-8 inches high at fifty yards......... so I figured this 1/2 inch tall riser block would be just the ticket. After installing the riser and reinstalling the front sight it now sits way to high, even with the front sight post buried to it's lowest position, still ran out of adjustment but now it's the opposite direction. Not the risers fault, like I said it does seem like a quality, well made product, it just won't solve my problem for this particular rifle. ATI owners need to look elsewhere for a solution to this problem.

Good red dot riser with one issue, you get what you pay for.
Performs its intended function for my setup after making one adjustment. I had a clearance issue with my red dot (Bushnell TRS-25) and the thumbscrew when the thumbscrew was mounted on the left side of the gun. By flipping the riser around so the thumbscrew was on the right, the clearance issue was resolved (barely). However, depending on your preferred mounting location and the gun, having the riser's thumbscrew on the ejection side could be an issue in some cases. For those who are handy and not worried about altering the piece, the thumbscrew could be beveled off on the inside edge with a grinder to achieve clearance in the standard orientation. It is disappointing (but not shocking) that this was not taken into account by UTG in the original design. A quick throw style lever would solve the problem as well. You get what you pay for.

Some scopes that I tried like my Holosun actually has room to move when sitting ...
Some scopes that I tried like my Holosun actually has room to move when sitting on top of this.. I was the QD but it doesn't move when mounted on other rails. Also the size and position of its own release knob is too close to the rail and you might not be able to turn it when you have something mounted on top of it... So I ended up not be able to unscrew this mount and take the whole thing off but have to take off the scope and unmount this riser... if the knob is 1/2 a cm further out things would be fine. They didn't think very clearly when designing the thing.

economical and functional!
I have selected the UTG Low Profile Riser Mount as an accessory for Bushnell's TRS-25 tactical red dot optic W/riser.The instrument is intended for mounting on a 30-06 Sprfld. Winchester Mod 70 rifle used for driven hunts (battue) in Europe. This rifle is also equipped with a 1.5-6x32 Bushnell Scopechief for daytime hunting, in addition of a 3-9x42 Barska "Euro-30" riflescope for hunting at dusk. The scopes are clamped in Weaver Grand Slam Lever Lock rings. All three instruments can be mounted/ dismounted within seconds, without tools. The UTG Low Profile Riser Mount is inexpensive and changes the Bushnell red dot sight into a fully functional optic for hunting wild boar in tight spots.
