P90X Peak Performance Protein Bars: Chocolate Peanut Butter Flavor, 2.29 Oz (Pack of 12)

Recently, I purchased my first P90x protein bars because I needed a snack that was heavy on protein and these were it. I realized the cost, and I'd read the reviews about poor quality through Amazon, but for the money, these were the best bars I could've hoped to get. My package arrived in two days, and the bars were extremely fresh and didn't expire for another 6 months. Maybe people who can eat gluten don't realize it, but these taste FAR better than any of the other gluten-free options on the shelf, including all of the options at Whole Foods (I've tried them all, unfortunately). I'm truly happy that this company thought about people with allergies when they set out to produce this bar. This does, however, increase the cost of the item, as the ingredients with gluten are inevitably cheaper (also, the brand name is upping the price, I'm sure). Still, at Whole Foods, I would expect to pay at least $2.00 for a gluten-free protein bar, and they taste like bricks. To me, this is chocolate dessert heaven. To those who are able to eat real desserts, I can understand your chagrin, but take it with a grain of salt. If you can eat a Clif Bar, by all means go for it. For those of use who are limited by allergies, this is truly a perfect snack that keeps me full for hours! Thanks for the option!

I have been eating these bars consistently for about 10 months now and they have about the best combination of taste and nutrition you can find on the market. P90X and Beachbody have done a great job with having a substantial item that is not overloaded with fat or calories but also tastes good. Sometimes I can't eat an entire one and they keep well with the package folded over, but will melt like anything in a hot car. They are great to take on trips, but the only disadvantage is that they are a bit spend at over $2 a bar on Amazon while buying in bulk. Protein content is strong as I am sure you have seen from the Nutrition Chart. I have tried Mocha, this Peanut Butter and Blueberry and the Peanut Butter is by far my favorite. No contest. The Blueberry is a bit too sweet while this peanut better is perfect in sweetness.

I love these protein bars. They are filling and taste great (even for a protein bar). The only problem is that I live in Texas and more often than not they melted in transit. I stick them in the freezer and they are edible and still taste pretty good. The bars would taste and look alot better if they can figure out a way to send them without melting the chocolate!

I bought the bars through Beachbody first and really really liked the taste of Choc Fudge and also the Mocha flavor (Peanut butter was terrible and Yogurt flavor was ok). The delivery time was quite long with Beachbody, so being a huge Amazon fan I thought I would order them through here.I bought two boxes and when they arrived the expiry date on the bars was within one month of when they arrived (whereas the ones from Beachbody had much later dates). The bars also were much harder than the ones I ordered from Beachbody (plus the taste was slightly stale).Definitely will be ordering these products from Beachbody directly in the future.

I love P90X bars and eat them for lunch when I need to lose weight. I order them from beachbody.com all the time. I decided to try ordering them from amazon to save a few bucks. WRONG! They arrived stale, hard as rocks, and a few had the wrapper torn in the corner - yikes! I immediately called amazon and returned them (free shipping - amazon just emails you a shipping label). It was a big hassle; it was annoying; I had to wait an additional week before starting my diet; and would not have saved me any money anyways: amazon jacks up the price so the cost was equivalent without shipping / tax. But I will say that Amazon was very pleasant about the whole debacle. The $ was refunded promptly upon return.

I bought these to try when first starting P90X. I had shopped around for a protein bar with high protein, lower calories, that fit into the P90X nutrition plan. After a few days if shopping around, I gave up and purchased these and couldn't be happier. These seem very heavy for what they are. They're filling and the taste is acceptable, though since its heavy it requires a lot of water to get it down. Lately I have been replacing a mid-morning snack with a bar. It usually keeps hunger at bay for 3 hours. I can't live without it and I'm getting ready to order the variety pack to try all the different flavors.

I've ordered this product directly from the P90X website and they were delicious. However, the 3 boxes I ordered through Amazon were stale. They appear to have melted and reformed. The chocolate was not as tasty as the others I've recieved.

These bars tasted ok and the expiration date is about six months out, but the chocolate has a white film on it. Don't like that. Makes me feel like it sat around a long time before it was sold.
