Four-year-old daughter loves Ace!
Should it concern me that my daughter chooses to be one of the bad bugs when we play Ace Lacewing, Bug Detective (which she insists we do regularly)? I guess since even the bad bugs aren't really so bad I'll hold off on sending her to therapy. After purchasing the first Ace Lacewing book I thought I'd made a mistake, as both the humor, a few particular lines, and the film noir detective references appeared over the head of my four-year-old. But even though there was much I knew she wasn't getting (and some we edited out of our reading) she absolutely fell in love with Ace and all the inhabitants of bug town. So much so that after we'd gone through the series she insisted every night for weeks that my poor wife come up with new Ace Lacewing stories to tell her before bed time.So please, please, publish some more of these wonderful children's books! Actually, as a middle aged man I sort of enjoy them myself.)

Yeah for Lacewing.
This is my daughter's second Lacewing story, she is 6 and we got the first one for her when she was 4. She LOVES both of them. She loves bugs in general and books so Lacewing fits her idea of fantastic. The story is fun for us parents to read as well. So her fascination with it is welcome! I recommend you pick it up even if you don't like bugs this book is entertaining for both adults and kids. Cheers!

My duaghter loves Ace!
My 9 yo discovered Ace Lacewing when the author visited her school and read the first one in the series. I think I had to go out that weekend and buy the book for her :) We love the illustrations and the human characteristics given to the bugs.

Ace Lacewing, my hero!
This is an EXCELLENT, imaginative forray into Motham City, where Ace Lacewing, Bug Detective is busy with his bad bug business. With glorious illustrations and an award from NC Science Book reviewers, Ace is a must for your home or school library!

Great Book
I love the illustrations. The story lends itself easily to high order thinking skills needed by all elementary students. Great Book.
