The first thing I learned is the ingredients are not available in my area. The second thing I learned is to get the Authentic Chicago dogs it takes a process that I learned by trial and error. 1. Prepare the onions and tomatoes first by slicing. I put two hotdogs in a plastic container in my microwave for 1 minute and drain the water. I have everything ready except the two buns. I put the buns in the microwave in the up position for 9 seconds. I face the buns down for down for 9 seconds. And finally on the sides for 7 seconds. I do this for the buns because they come cool and I put them in the fridge to keep them fresh. The assembly is simple after the buns and the hotdogs are prepared. They were delicious.

If you love 'Chicago Hot Dogs' as much as I do, you won't be disappointed with this kit. All of the contents are good quality and they came fresh. The price seems a little high, but when you consider they have to be shipped in a cold pack with a quick transit time, it isn't too bad. You'd probably pay this much to a street vendor anyway for 16 hot dogs.

I sent this item to a friend who is living in Oregon. (She and I both are from the Chicago area and she cant get Vienna Beef of any kind out there). She took them to her work place to introduce her coworkers to Chicago Style Hot dogs. After giving them the "assembly Instructions" and the "Chicago regulation" of "No ketchup on the dog if you're over the age of 10". The all dug in....There is now an entire office that is full of Vienna Beef Chicago Style Hotdogs (and the one person who always put ketchup on hot dogs is now a convert to no ketchup). They ALL raved about the flavor of the dogs, the condiments and even the poppy seed buns.

All of the ingredients were perfect and i made many Chicago-style hot dogs for the family last weekend.

This was excellent. My husband, being from Chicago was always talking about how he missed Vienna hotdogs. I purchased this kit as a birthday gift, and it certainly made his day. Everything is included. Very reasonable. Quick delivery.

Being born and raised in Chicago on the northwest side I ate many a Chicago dog from various street vendors. I bought this kit to treat the family (born elsewhere) to the taste of the famous, and in my opinion, best hotdog in the world. This kit did not disappoint, the taste was spot on, with most of the ingredients included to duplicate the original. A few items that are needed are not included but are readily available. (Chopped white onion, tomato and pickle spear). All items shipped were original quality including the Chicago baked Poppy seed buns. At $90+ for the kit, this make for a pricey meal but it beats having to drive to Chicago for the original ;-) Cooking tip, boil the dogs for 5 minutes rather than grill them for the original street dog snap!

I lived in Chicago for 10 years and loved REAL Vienna Beef Chicago Dogs. Back in California, Original Chicago Dogs are very hard to find. HOWEVER, I’ve ordered the 16-Pack from Vienna Beef for home delivery. It arrived quickly in a styrofoam pack with several cold “bricks” so the pack of dogs, poppyseed buns, relish, mustard and sport peppers were well chilled and ready to cook or store in my refrigerator. Even celery salt is included. I have to add a pickle spear and chopped onions and they taste just like they do in Chi Town! Oh, and there’s no ketchup, of course because NO ONE should put ketchup on a real Chicago Dog! Perfection!!
